JOB TITLE: Charge Nurse OR GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Administrator EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of one (1) year in management position and a minimum of three (3) years in the OR as an RN preferred. Previous ASC experience preferred. REQUIRED: Has a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in CA. Current BCLS certification, Current ACLS certification, CNOR preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Demonstrates the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, co workers, and other health team members. Demonstrates the ability to manage a variety of personality types, effectively maximizing the performance of others. Deals with conflict while preserving relationships. Honors and respects physicians and all co-workers. Promotes a culture of honor. Refrains from petty behaviors. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of basic mathematics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. LEADERSHIP 1. Demonstrates appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care and unit activities. 2. Identifies and communicates problems in the OR, pursues feedback for resolution; actively participates in resolution methods. 3. Uses past experiences and results to analyze present problem situations for effective decision making; demonstrates ability to transfer information from one situation to another. 4. Assertively attempts to solve minor problems of care, relationships, equipment, supplies, or environment prior to management intervention; documents actions and, if unresolved, communicates actions to the Administrator. 5. Delegates duties and tasks to others after assessment of competency, determination of scope of responsibilities, and awareness of staff member's performance abilities. 6. Demonstrates and utilizes effective leadership and decision making skills. 7. Appropriately utilizes management resources for problem resolution. Benefits:
