Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly with communities; non-profit or academic grant writing; and familiarity with environmental topics is preferred.
Position Summary
The Program Manager (PM) is responsible for providing project management for the Georgia team of the EPA Region 4 Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center (Region 4 TCTAC) housed at RTI International, with UGA as the sub-awardee.

The PM will be responsible for outreach to community members and groups in need of technical assistance across the state; coordinating meetings between multiple parties across the state; facilitating training in various locations and remotely; organizing and participating in community activities across the state; compiling, responding and reporting on inquiries regarding technical support; and assisting in the preparation of educational, training and outreach materials.

This position is currently funded for 3 years. Continuation of this grant-funded position is expressly contingent upon continuation of funding.

  • Project management and/or program coordination experience in a community environment.
  • Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with university personnel, state and federal agencies, and private organizations.
  • Lead and work as a team member with all project partners and staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Evaluate and analyze existing approaches and procedures and to help devise novel approaches.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite and ability to utilize platforms for communication and reporting.

  • Lead, with guidance from team leaders, the preparation of training and educational materials to be distributed
  • Coordinate and assist in-person and virtual meetings, trainings and webinars for team leaders, community groups and subject matter experts

  • Collect and coordinate responses to community inquiries received online, via phone and in-person
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships with community groups, team leaders and stakeholders
  • Promote the TCTAC program using in person, online, and direct mechanisms
  • Engage with subject matter experts that will provide input for trainings and direct assistance to community groups
