Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Department Administrator. As a Department Administrator at Cleveland-Cliffs Tek and Kote, you will be supporting daily Human Resources administrative functions. The Cleveland-Cliffs Tek and Kote facility is located in New Carlisle, Indiana, and is a 24/7 operation that produces cold-rolled, hot-dipped galvannealed, and electrogalvanized steel coils.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide entry/exit control for persons on property and visitor door security.
  • Maintains positive relationships with vendors, contractors, internal clients and/or customers.
  • Performs clerical duties including but not limited to, data entry, paperwork organization, document maintenance and filing.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping.
  • Ensures operations compliance with Human Resources related procedures, practices, and regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality and handling of sensitive data or information.
  • Performs administrative support such as data entry, proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, operating computer software, file and maintain sensitive information and documents with accuracy.
  • Answers routine personnel inquiries, maintains select personnel files and forms.
  • Works collaboratively with internal clients to support the strategies of the department, plant, and company business objectives.
  • Assists security with and may facilitate communications between departments and make plant-wide announcements in the event of severe weather, chemical spill/release, employee injury or fire.
  • Arranges job training for workers and assist with putting together training materials.
  • Maintain the SDS system for safety data sheets.
  • Creates badges for new hires, contractors, and visitors and maintain tracking data sheets for all badges.
  • Maintains locker and uniform processes and data entry.
  • Involvement in social/community activities and may coordinate community organization participation.
  • Coordinate plant-wide communications and bulletins.
  • Provide support during special events, customer, or visitor tours.
  • Coordinate public relations/plant tour activities.
  • Organizes and schedules self-work assignments to ensure work is completed on time and adheres to deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 1- 3 years' experience in an administrative/clerical role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Special knowledge/experiences in a Human Resources role working with confidential information.
  • Associate degree and 1 year or more in a Human Resources or equivalent role.
