Purpose

To provide safe, cost-effective mechanical repair services and support, to a full-service automotive shop and fueling facility. To inspect, diagnose, and perform necessary repairs to vehicles, carts, trailers, and assorted equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Use standard tools of the trade, diagrams, computers, scanners, and manuals in the performance of vehicle, cart, and equipment repair. Participates in the maintenance and operation of an automotive shop and fuel station. Performs work in accordance with established safety procedures. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Understands and follows oral and written instructions or specifications. Receives work requests for scheduled and unscheduled repairs, inspects and diagnosis perceived problems and safety components, and recommends repairs. Requisitions necessary parts and includes them on the work order. Provides cost effective repair services in accordance with ASE industry standards. Updates work order status in real-time including technician comments. Reviews completed repairs and notifies customers.
  • Provides roadside assistance for disabled or stranded vehicles and carts. Performs repair services to equipment at remote locations. Participates in daily upkeep for fleet pool including vehicle cleaning, washing and fueling services.
  • Inspects and prepares necessary documentation for maintaining service station records, repair logs, invoices, work orders, mileage reports, and safety checklists. Performs regular inspection of fuel dispensers, hoses and pumps at fuel stations. Assists vendors at fuel drops. Adheres to applicable State and Federal regulations in regards to materials handling and disposal. Supports surplus staff on auction sales dates.
  • Other related duties as assigned. Occasional overtime/comp/weekend/holiday work required. Must work at least one home football game each year in addition to every other game during Thanksgiving week.
Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Three years' experience in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of vehicles in an automotive shop environment. Must have professional demeanor, and show attention to detail. Licenses: must have or obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 12 months of employment. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. Applicants for this role are expected to be able to repeatedly stand, walk, bend, lift, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push and pull. Weights lifted: 20 to 50 pounds carried frequently, with heavier loads at times. Hands are used repetitively for firm grasping and medium dexterity throughout the shift. Must be dependable, punctual, flexible, and exhibit exceptional attendance.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$53,000 + depending on qualifications
