College of Medicine, Office of Administration and Finance/Operations:

The College of Medicine, Office of Administration and Finance oversees the budget, supervises human resources, ensures the availability and maintenance of appropriate facilities, and sees that resources are spent appropriately and effectively to manage the college.

The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine (COM) Office of Administration and Finance is seeking well-qualified candidates for a Health Operations Manager. The Health Operations Manager plans and implements a variety of administrative, professional services, and property management programs that support UCF College of Medicine, Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, Lake Nona Cancer Center, UCF Health, Direct Support Organizations (DSO), HealthARCH and leased facilities for clerkship programs. Travel to these locations and others outside of central Florida is required. A valid Florida Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for business service contracts related to property management and other medical, clinical, student, and academic support functions at the College of Medicine, UCF Health, and affiliated locations. Maintain service and warranty contracts. Assist in the preparation of budgets and allocation of operating funds. Oversee the tracking of College of Medicine assets.

  • Management of student housing at multiple clerkship site locations to include: property leasing, furnishings, student housing agreements, unit inspections, key exchanges, property maintenance, and service contracts. Develop and plan for needed changes each academic year. This position may need to respond to housing issues after hours. Travel to offsite locations outside of central Florida is required.

  • Supervise and delegate work to assigned personnel and contracted companies. Provide guidance, training, and general direction within the scope of the position's responsibility. Manage contracted site managers at out-of-town student housing locations.

  • Manage vendor installation of furniture, fixtures, and COM-related medical equipment (FFE). Ensure needed FFE inventory is secured. Implement and supervise the standardization of purchased products for COM including student housing locations.

  • Liaise with UCF Facilities Operations, UCF Business Services, UCF Planning, Design & Construction, UCF Environmental Health and Safety, and COM General Counsel Office as it relates to medical and academic operations, as well as revenue-generating agreements.

  • Initiate financial processes by verifying accuracy, terminology, and specifications. Prepare, maintain, and review orders, reports, purchasing, and invoices. Track the status of contracts, location of capital assets, auxiliary revenue, lease payments, and work orders.

  • Assist with space management and space plan updates. Maintain a space planning database and manage space accommodations requests for the College of Medicine. Assists with the preparation of accreditation documents.

  • Other duties as assigned include the timely completion of university and college-required training and updates.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. .

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Ability to interface with internal and external groups; be diplomatic and cordial; interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to think clearly, problem solve, and use common sense; be proactive and anticipate issues.

  • Proficient with technology and computer operations; Microsoft Office proficiency.

  • Knowledge of logistics, problem-solving, deductive reasoning, scheduling, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to travel to various locations.
