The Opportunity:

Join our dynamic Landscape Team as a Landscaper III. This position is responsible for supervising, training, and coordinating the workload for assigned employees to ensure quality landscape maintenance. Additionally, it serves as a secondary point of customer contact, representing the organization to ensure customer satisfaction and communication. Duties and responsibilities may be modified as dictated by business needs.

Responsibilities:


  • Direct daily work performance of Landscaper I and II, ensuring designated landscape areas are maintained to departmental standards.

  • Establish, manage, and revise workforce productivity and work quality through planning and coordination.

  • Assist in all maintenance tasks including edging, line trimming, mowing, pruning, blowing, policing, and weed control.

  • Develop and implement procedures and controls to ensure effective and efficient operations, safeguard assets, and comply with regulations.

  • Conduct maintenance audits, record inspections, and follow up on employee performance reviews.

  • Provide coaching and training on job assignments, standards, and customer service.

  • Communicate with building customers to monitor standards of maintenance, safety, and service.

  • Provide safety training and ensure employees work safely, reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions.

  • Process work requests according to departmental SOPs and guidelines.

  • Review all work orders assigned to the zone, maintaining accurate data and coordinating schedules and priorities.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Working knowledge of trades classifications, tools, materials, and task sequencing for maintenance.

  • Proficient communication skills in English in order to: work effectively with customers and supervise team members; operate and demonstrate use of all equipment used in landscape maintenance; comprehend and describe standard safety procedures to staff members; utilize telecommunication devices.

  • Ability to assess appropriate skill levels for tasks to provide cost-effective service.

  • Experience in large complex organizations with exposure in landscape management.

  • Understanding and application of UCF guidelines, regulations, and policies.

  • Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office and CMMS.

  • Management skills such as planning, organizing, and delegation.

  • Understanding and application of supervisory principles and practices.

  • Ability to interpret and prepare reports, inspections, and documentation.

  • Maintain confidentiality and address sensitive matters appropriately.

  • Ability to assess material needs, order, and sustain inventories accurately.

  • Ability to ensure work productivity and service meet quality assurance standards.


Health Assessment Required:

UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
