Job Description

MISSION:

To clean and maintain facilities and grounds.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Plant Janitor:
    • Objective: To maintain plant facilities in a clean, orderly manner.
      • Essential Job Functions:
        1. Cleans offices, lunchrooms and bathrooms.
        2. Cleans and controls dust in manufacturing areas (SSBO).
        3. Scrapes floors, vacuums dust and cleans in wax molding and assembly areas (SSBO).
        4. Vacuums carpets.
        5. Cleans glass and other surfaces which may include light fixtures, stairs and lockers.
        6. Empties trash receptacles.
  • Grounds:
    • Objective: To maintain grounds in a clean manner.
      • Essential Job Functions:
        1. Removes trash from grounds surrounding plant.
        2. Empties trash receptacles.
  • Safety:
    • Objective: To take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.
      • Essential Job Functions:
        1. Adheres to plant and department safety rules.
        2. Safely operates all equipment and tools.
        3. Identifies and reports safety problems.
        4. May be required to work with hazardous waste.

  • OTHER (MARGINAL) ACCOUNTABILITIES:
        1. Performs other tasks as assigned.
        2. Maintains janitorial supplies; provides orders to supervisor.

ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT, VEHICLES, TOOLS AND/OR MACHINERY USED:

  1. Forklift (SSBO, TBO only)
  2. Mop and bucket
  3. Vacuum
  4. Buffer
  5. Scrubber
  6. Step ladder

TRAINING:

  1. Training is provided on the job.
  2. Completion of PCC's Forklift Driving Safety Certification Training required. (SSBO, TBO)
  3. May be required to complete hazardous waste management training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Basic ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  2. Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
  3. Valid driver's license in order to drive PCC vehicles. (SSBO)
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency. The U.S. export control regulations define a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.
