Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in various aspects of manufacturing engineering, providing an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. The intern will work closely with experienced engineers and gain valuable insights into manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Process Support and Optimization:

  • Assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, including assembly, machining, and fabrication operations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and cycle time optimization.
  • Participate in troubleshooting activities to address production issues and implement corrective actions.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Support quality assurance activities, including inspection procedures, process audits, and non-conformance analysis.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control plans and statistical process control methods.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis efforts and help implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality.

CAD/CAM Support:

  • Gain experience in CAD/CAM software and assist in creating or modifying engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
  • Learn basic CNC programming techniques and assist in optimizing tool paths and machining parameters.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive process improvements.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process control plans.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project findings, recommendations, and progress updates.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong academic background with coursework in manufacturing processes, CAD/CAM, and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
