Description
The Stoughton Area School District is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Administrative Assistance in the Attendance Office at River Bluff Middle School, effective immediately for the 2023-2024 school year. Hours of Position: Monday - Friday 7:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.

Job Summary:
The Attendance Administrative Assistant is responsible for all student attendance record keeping and reporting.

Reports to:
Principal

Essential Job Functions:
1. Ability to respond positively to diverse needs of staff, parents, students and the community.
2. Ability to work independently, follow oral and written directions, and complete assignments accurately and timely.
3. Demonstrates the ability to problem solve when policies or procedures may not be clearly defined.
4. Ability to exercise initiative, original thinking and judgment; drawing upon factual background and fundamental principles.
5. Effective written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with staff, parents, students and the community.
6. Performs all office duties including typing, data entry, filing, copying, faxing, mail sorting, answering phone calls, taking messages, scheduling appointments, drills and meetings, communicating calendar reminders to the Associate Principals, and routing calls.
7. Collects data using word processing and spreadsheet programs and databases including but not limited to Infinite Campus, Excel, Word, Skyward, Publisher, and Power Point.
8. Completes, maintains and distributes or submits required attendance reports; e.g. district, state and federal.
9. Works with digital imagining equipment such as digital cameras and scanners, and edits images.
10. Works in other clerical positions when needed and assigned.
11. All other duties as assigned by the principal and/or associate principal.
12. Demonstrates organizational skills, flexibility, a team attitude and customer service focus.
13. Maintains office confidentiality.
14. Complies with the absence policies of the district.
15. Maintains daily written and/or oral communication with parents/guardians, teachers and students regarding absences.
16. Reports accurate and up-to-date attendance information to administrators, teachers, parents, social workers, truancy court and other regulatory agencies.
17. Maintains accurate enrollment, withdrawal and fieldtrip records.
18. Assigns student lockers and maintains appropriate records.
19. All other duties as assigned by the principal and associate principal.
20. Complies with the absence policies of the district.

Requirements of Essential Functions:
Occasional (1-33%) bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, squatting, reaching and stair climbing in order to perform essential job functions.

Lifting: 1-10 pounds constantly (66-100%)
10-25 pounds frequently (34-66%)
over 50 pounds occasionally (1-33%)

Marginal Job Functions:
1. All other duties assigned which relate to the functions of the job.
2. Will learn other areas of expertise as directed by the Building Principals in an effort to cross-train staff.
Qualifications

1. High school diploma with secretarial science emphasis or related experience
2. Proficient in word processing, data base and spreadsheet applications
