MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works clinically performing duties of an MOA including scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients, collecting payment, administering POC tests, collecting specimens and taking vital signs as well as maintaining clinic standards for organization (upkeep of facilities, equipment maintenance, tracking logs etc)
  • While working clinically as an MOA, provides clinical and administrative support to remote and/or in-person Advanced Practice Clinicians
  • Provides staffing coverage to support business needs
  • Supports training and onboarding of new teammates. Monitors and reviews progress and accuracy of work.
  • Provides input to leader on teammate performance, resolution of employee concerns and employee engagement.
  • Provides input and/or recommendations to leader for resolution of issues related to daily operations in addition to sharing improvements that would support achievement of our Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Assesses educational needs of teammates, identifying opportunities to engage them in process improvements; assists with preparation and delivery of training materials
  • Collaborates inter-departmentally to complete annual team member trainings and competency requirements
  • Rounds at clinic locations to support teammate training and workflow needs
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

License/Registration/Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 21 days of start date.

Education Required: High School Graduate

Experience Required: Typically requires 2 years' experience as Medical Office Assistant or other clinical support staff providing direct patient care.Experience providing operational leadership support preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including problem solving, prioritization, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of general clinical operations and workflows
  • Ability to accurately take vital signs and perform point of care testing
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft applications including Excel and PowerPoint, electronic medical records, Outlook and other electronic communication platforms.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Position requires travel between sites; therefore will be exposed to road and weather conditions. A home clinic site will be defined, but rounding to various clinic locations is expected.
  • Must have reliable method of transportation
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
