Responsibilities

State Farm In-House Insurance Staff Counsel is seeking a Paralegal to join the Claims Litigation team. The selected candidate will sit in either Bloomington, Illinois or Indianapolis, Indiana. Responsibilities will include preparing medical chronologies, reviewing medical records and bills and billing summaries. The most qualified candidates will have the ability to work independently, prioritize workload, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively. The selected individual will be considered a hybrid employee, spending some time working in office with some optional opportunities to work in a virtual environment at times. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Prior injury claims, litigation or paralegal experience
  • Paralegal degree/certificate/certification, medical training, legal studies degree or relevant coursework is required
  • Background in reviewing medical records and preparing medical chronologies is required
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience using Evermap and/or Adobe Bookmarking
  • Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity
