NRG's Renewable Advisory Group is looking to hire an undergraduate Junior intern who is available to start this summer. The team works with customers to help support their renewable energy goals through community solar subscriptions and large-scale renewable opportunities. The team has a start-up-like culture that requires innovation and agility from all of its team members. The ideal intern candidate will have a combination of technical proficiency (Microsoft Excel), experience with data analysis, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and high levels of organization.This will be a part-time, hybrid position located in New York City for 10 weeks (40 hours per week).

Projects and responsibilities in this position include:

  • Data analysis: Review NRG community solar customer data and analyze potential opportunities for transactions and revenue to NRG.
  • Renewable Energy market analysis: Identify potential new community solar markets. Track changes in existing community solar markets. Track historical VPPA Pricing. Research distributed generation market updates.
  • General sales and marketing collateral updating: Create engaging and informative marketing collateral and assist in the development of training and process guides for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Must have an interest in sustainability, renewables, and/or energy markets
  • An undergraduate Senior, currentlyenrolled and attending an accredited college or university located in New York State.

OR

  • An undergraduate Senior, currentlyenrolled and attending an accredited college who has attended a degree program at a college or university located in New York State within the last 12 months.

OR

  • An undergraduate Senior, currentlyenrolled and attending an accredited college or university and is a New York State resident. New York State residency, with proof of residency such as a rental agreement or utility bills, must have been established before the start of the internship. Interns moving to the state for an internship do not qualify under this category.

The hourly pay for this role is $17/hr. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to education,work experience, certifications, etc.
