Responsibilities: Directing accounting functions for the business unit. Hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks. Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency. Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time. Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Analyzing financial data and creating reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties, such as vendors or lenders. Establishing effective treasury management including cash forecasting, disbursement authorizations, and cash flow analyses. Maintaining accurate and complete financial records and participating in audits or reconciliations, as needed. Overseeing and reviewing month-end duties and the annual financial audit for the business unit. Assisting other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business. Supervise Billing, Inventory, Cash Application, AR, AP, and Fixed Asset functions. Keeping informed about the latest developments in the finance industry. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. At least 5 years' experience in Accounting required and 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. Certifications, or ambition to obtain certifications, (such as CMA or CPA) and public accounting experience (Big 4) is preferred. Knowledge of revenue recognition guidelines and GAAP. Project management skills. Proven experience coordinating audit activities.
