Explore a career in meetings and event planning with a trade association supporting businesses in advancing a sustainable, thriving paper and wood products industry. This is a great opportunity to work alongside skilled professionals who oversee and manage major conferences and meetings. This internship will provide meaningful work experience and a glimpse into how American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) supports an industry and promotes its sustainability initiatives.

Work with our fast-paced team to gain direct experience in association meeting planning by:

  • Assisting with planning and preparation for 3-5 events ranging in size from 25-300 attendees
  • Serving as main registrar for 300-person conference
  • Attending weekly and biweekly cross-departmental team planning meetings for the association’s two fall conferences
  • Helping to prepare team meeting agendas and updating task lists
  • Acting as liaison with hotels and monitor room blocks for several small fall committee meetings
  • Assisting Senior Planner with review of conference banquet orders

AF&PA's internships are intended to:

  • Provide valuable work experience in areas of interest and study
  • Allow individuals to learn about the essential and sustainable work of the forest products industry
  • Provide exposure to the various disciplines within AF&PA, the public policy world and the industry
  • Expose interns to professionals in their field of study and other disciplines
