The Category Manager CAPEX and MRO will be responsible for the creation and execution of the global strategic sourcing strategies for indirect materials and services to support Belden's businesses. This position requires an exceptional ability to develop relationships across the organization as well as with key suppliers to the company and to communicate effectively with leaders at all levels and global counterparts. This role can be located anywhere in North America.

You will make an impact in the following ways:



  • Develop and execute global commodity strategies to deliver: Targeted reductions in year-over-year cost, leveraging global CAPEX spend to drive discounts, supplier qualification, selection and onboarding. Comprehensive commodity profiles, including market analysis, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership. Identification and associated mitigation plans for pricing inflation and high risk factors that may impact total cost or assurance of supply
  • Provide the leadership for developing successful supplier relationships for assigned commodities, creating and negotiating supplier contracts or pricing agreements, managing all facets of supplier management activities for assigned commodities
  • Prepare and analyze RFI, RFQ, and RFP as needed. Analyze responses and work with appropriate internal counterparts for best case award decision
  • Establishes savings and performance targets in line with Belden performance expectation
  • Responsible for leading supplier performance evaluations, annual business reviews and development activities related to suppliers in areas of responsibility
  • Participates and/or leads cross-functional teams, actively shares knowledge with others, and exhibits leadership to encourage adoption of procurement practices
  • Communicates regional requirements, strategies and goal achievement to regional and global leadership
  • Support maintenance and training of the global procurement solution Zycus or other P2P or S2P system
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time


What you will bring:



  • BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, business or related fields
  • Five years of relevant experience in Category Management within the manufacturing industry
  • Institute for Supply Management (ISM)C.P.M, CPSM or CPSM, CSCP or CPIM professional certifications are preferred



Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $112,300 - $149,800 annually, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
