Product Manager - Process Simulation Focus

The RoleAspen Technology, industry leader in Process Simulation, Engineering and Asset Optimization software is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual as Product Manager, focusing on process simulation reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management. The focus of the job is to help drive product usage growth, ensure customer satisfaction, and support internal technical staff engaged in product growth initiatives.

AspenTech's Engineering suite provides market leading products to optimize the performance of process industry assets across the CAPEX and OPEX cycles and is integrated with AspenTech's Manufacturing & Supply Chain and Asset Performance Management Suites. AspenTech is industry leader in asset modeling and optimization for the last 35 years creating over $50bn of value for customers in the process industries. Your Impact
  • Manage specific products in the Aspen Plus product family such as Aspen Customer Modeler and other related products.
  • Assist the Product Management team on business analysis activities including usage and adoption analysis, win/loss analysis, and collecting information on product needs through surveys, customer interviews, and other customer-facing activity.
  • Work closely with R&D, Customer Support, and other functions to help triage and prioritize incoming product defects and enhancement requests; define technical product requirements.
  • Support Product Marketing to identify key product benefits and differentiators, draft event speakers, develop and deliver webinars, blogs, and other content driving product growth.
  • Collaborating with customers and translating feedback from the customers into software requirements and product strategy to achieve rapid adoption of the software.
  • Develop and maintain product demonstration cases and other technical collateral to support field sales.
  • Engage with early adopters through the innovation program to help drive success stories and product references; work with marketing to formalize references into white papers and other content.
  • Evangelize products within and outside the organization.
  • Help develop internal training for new products and features (train the trainers).
  • Help develop customer-facing e-learning content (develop seed content and review finished work produced by the e-learning team; identify and prioritize training needs).
  • Help manage the alpha- and beta-testing programs.
  • Support AspenTech's Sales Consultants get started with new features and products, the candidate is expected to be comfortable working with customers in virtual meetings.
  • A passion for driving adoption and usage of software products and for enhancing work practices.
  • Background in using software tools for engineering, especially Aspen Plus. Experience with Aspen Custom Modeler, Aspen Simulation Workbook, and other products in the engineer suite is a plus.
  • Ability to synthesize customer and internal feedback and use that feedback to define specific product requirements and features.
  • Prior work using AspenTech tools or other simulation tools in an owner operator or E&C context is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate the product message.
  • Strong leadership skills with track record in leading successful project or business initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Chemical Engineering concepts including thermodynamics and reaction kinetics.
What You'll Need
  • B.S. Chemical or Petroleum Engineering degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years' experience in hands on process engineering, design and modeling solutions required.
  • Aspen Hysys and/or Aspen Plus experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Product Management is a plus.
