Description

As a Microsoft Entra ID Support Specialist at Macmillan Publishing within the Infrastructure group, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications and platforms products. Specifically, you will help drive significant business impact and help shape the target state of our hybrid Microsoft Entra and Active Directory environment at Macmillan.

What you'll bring:



  • Overall knowledge / understanding of Microsoft technologies such as Cloud Services, IoT, Defender, Intune, storage accounts etc.
  • Provisioning and management of Entra ID network architecture
  • Must have experience with common network services, SNMP, Syslog, DNS, NTP, DHCP, AD, etc
  • Medium to High competence in PowerShell script development
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills together with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills to produce results consistently and efficiently
  • Self-managed and motivated, with the ability to work alone
  • Comfortable to work flexible hours to meet the communication demands of a global company including weekend rotations
  • Provide Tier-2 troubleshooting support working with the user support team to effectively manage and monitor all systems - including contributing to the preparation of technical design and planning documents and creating and maintaining as built documents and troubleshooting guides
  • Analytical skills to read metric trends, anomalies, and spikes in behaviors from various telemetry sources
  • Drive to research new technologies, both within and external to Entra ID in the support of our Hybrid Cloud Service environment
  • Ability and understanding of information classifications in the support of handling sensitive and confidential information professionally
  • Experience with log aggregation software, i.e. LogRhythm, Splunk or Logstash
  • Experience and knowledge working with ServiceNow ticketing system
  • Experience with Active Roles


Ideal Experience:



  • Minimum five plus years of experience in enterprise business space
  • Mid-level experience in managing software applications architecture
  • Medium to High competence in designing and implementing multi-site Windows Active Directory hybrid infrastructure.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
  • Experience administering Entra ID, Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Objects
  • Apply technical knowledge and business insights to support the deployment and administration of our Azure hybrid environment.
  • Ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of efficiency, meet the highest security standards, are maintainable and reusable while being reliable at the time of deployment
  • Ensure proper documentation is created and maintained (change management, service descriptions and project documentation, others as needed)
  • Maintain technical skills, knowledge of market trends and competitive insights
  • Monitoring cloud management metrics and storage services
  • Keep up to date with new Entra ID technologies, using the knowledge to identify and define a new processes or system improvement opportunities
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure and deployment issues
  • Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations and improvements
  • Monitor and control application performance, uptime, and scale for cloud resources
  • Work effectively with senior network engineers on the integration and schematic depiction of communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, and protocols into complete network configurations
  • Incident management and control taking control of a situation in critical scenarios from a diagnostic and time critical perspective
  • Handle tickets via escalation process from our Support Team regarding the processing and communications that occur


Education experience:



  • AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate Certification, or demonstrable capability to address the AZ-104 skillset competency
  • AZ-500 Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate or demonstrable capability to address the AZ-500 skillset competency
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience


This role will have an annual salary of $130,000 - $140,000.
