Job Summary:

The Commercial Operations Manager will be responsible for partnering with the region leadership team to design and develop key processes and tools to drive sales force effectiveness across North America by focusing on 1) Deal Desk Process and Cadence, 2) Centralized Commercial Analytics, 3) Pricing Excellence, 4) Deal/Regional Strategy and Profitability, and 5) Digital Sales Tools. This leader will be responsible for enabling our sales organization to win in the marketplace byproviding creative solutions and insights over the design and implementation of our sales organization, effectiveness of programs, and deployment of tools and analytics. This role will ensure internal accountability and review cadence is created and maintained.

Responsibilities:



  • Support a deal desk process, providing support in pricing, deal analysis, deal structuring, negotiation, closure and fulfillment.
  • Create an operating rhythm to maintain and support the deal desk process within the region with the key stakeholders
  • Simplify selling environment through playbooks which includes critical buyer insight, competitive intelligence, messaging framework and content strategy for sales execution and cadence.
  • Acts as a liaison within the business to document, refine and optimize business processes impacting sales.
  • Leads a team of proposal, contract and pricing professionals who exceed efficiency and deal closure goals.
  • Leads the Go/No-Go and Go To Market review for RFP requests from Sales and associated initial opportunity risks and validation including sales entrenchment/position and sales strategy.
  • Leads team to handle pricing, terms & conditions, technical offering and associated approvals for major contract proposals.
  • Evaluate sales productivity tools & suggest investments in enabling technologies to support the commercial teams.
  • Define, implement, and optimize key policies, practices and systems including customer analysis and reports (including the channel), quote management and analysis, forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Evaluates pricing and profitability structures to ensure fit with company objectives.
  • Develop and implement standardized CFD's as needed for team, included but not limited to NDA,RFQ (simple and complex), T&Cs, etc.
  • Create and maintain a centralized/shared virtual library for all documents and reports



Required Skills and Experience

Education and Experience



  • Degree in Business (administration, economics, finance), Marketing, or a JD preferred.
  • Experience working within a medium to large sized international organization.
  • Experience of successfully operating in a matrix environment.
  • Experience and competent with C-Suite interaction
  • Experience with bid management process, reviewing of contracts and documentation.
  • Experience working within an Industrial Automation market/business helpful, but not required.
  • Experience of working with cross functional teams, including Marketing, Product Development and Finance.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of a variety of Sales processes including funnel management, account planning, proposition development, and negotiation. Working experience of MEDDIC Methodology and Sales Process advantageous.

Essentials



  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to perform the duties of the role.
  • Computer literacy essential.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com and other computer programs used in Sales Operations highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ironclad preferred but not required.
  • English fluency to business standard essential.
