Director of Sales - Government Solutions

The Director of Government Solutions will engage in the establishment and onboarding of government entities (DoD, GSA, etc.) for the sole purpose of gaining entry to logistics opportunities with the government. Establishing the systems necessary for Echo to contract with and do business with government entities. These sales efforts will lead to meaningful revenue growth within the government vertical through onboarding, relationship building and RFP efforts to gain and grow government and client accounts. They will leverage their experience to train key National Sales Reps to land and grow key government logistics opportunities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish the systems and contracts necessary to onboard government Entities (DoD, GSA, etc.)

  • Communicate, negotiate, and manage contractual changes with government entities.

  • Establish compliance protocols to ensure that Echo remains in full compliance with government federal acquisition regulations.

  • Work directly with the RVP to establish relationships with key government personnel.

  • Access government load boards and gain RFP opportunities for domestic and international freight.

  • Help train account executives and inside sales reps to onboard freight from government entities.

  • Provide monthly progress reports to management.

  • Utilize Salesforce to create and build a government solutions pipeline of accounts.

  • Contribute to and maintain Standard Operating Process Documents (SOPS) and other processes performed for government solutions.

  • Bring subject matter experts from the organization into client relationship as needed to address specific issues and projects.

  • Attend conferences and industry trade shows to bring brand awareness to government entities.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum 8-10 Years of Sales experience

  • Minimum 3 years of leading a Sales team

  • Experience to include Sales Operations

  • Transactional and truckload background highly preferred

  • Knowledge of Sales Force highly preferred

  • Act as a government supply chain consultant to internal teams

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients

  • Strong leader across organizations without direct staff responsibility

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong problem solving ability and critical thinking skills

  • Goal oriented self-starter

  • Sense of urgency, self-confidence, passion, open-mindedness, and commitment to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer
