Position Summary:

Fiduciary Trust is hiring a Senior Relationship Manager / Team Leader to join our New York relationship management team. In this role, you will have two primary functions and serve in a player/coach capacity. In the client-facing "player" capacity, you will co-manage a significant book of client business, characterized as the firm's most complex relationships (largest AUM, multi-generational). You will serve as one of the clients' main points of contact and have responsibility to ensure client satisfaction.

In addition, you will be responsible for leadership of a Fiduciary Trust New York market team and therefore must have prior leadership and supervisory experience. In this management "coaching" capacity, you have responsibility for overseeing the team as a direct manager on handling day-to-day client service challenges, escalating issues to appropriate individuals, managing compliance and regulatory issues, maximizing client satisfaction, and encouraging the expansion of client relationships.

The Team Leader is responsible for developing and maintaining a strong culture amongst team members, creating consistency across the team in how they support and work together. In addition, the Team Leader is responsible for promoting a sales culture and will be responsible for contributing and leading the team to grow the team's revenue and AUM. Finally, the Team Leader will have full accountability for team performance, including talent development, responsibilities for coaching team members to excel in their respective rolesand will be responsible for giving performance appraisals, feedback and salary recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Proficiency in the following Wealth Management Subjects -

Client Education and Mentoring:

  • Works with HNW/UHNW clients to identify goals and objectives, including income needs, transfer of wealth, retirement planning etc.

  • Engages with Portfolio Managers on measuring corresponding family risks.

  • Coordinates and facilitates family meetings, understands family dynamics and works across multi generations.

Life Stage Planning:

  • Coordinates gift and estate planning strategies with all advisors

  • Provides advice for philanthropic planning and implementation of charitable strategies, and provide advice for retirement planning

Liquidity Analysis:

  • Budgeting and cash flow management

  • Capital gains / losses figures and carryover implications

  • Preparation of a balance sheet, including outside assets

  • Creates lifestyle analysis, ad-hoc analysis as requested

Tax Planning:

  • Coordination with Tax Accountants / Consultants. Coordinates and discusses annual gifting to individuals and charities. Develops strategies to maximize after tax returns.

Estate Planning: Work with Trust Professionals to -

  • Prepares and discusses benefits of GRAT's, QPRT's, CLUT's and CRUT's. Prepares and discusses estate flow charts

Investment Management:

  • Collaborates with Portfolio Manager to ensure proper client asset allocation. Plans exit strategy for concentrated positions

Insurance Review:

  • Partners with Insurance experts to review client's needs

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years' experience in a Relationship Management role required; must have client facing experience within the financial services industry

  • CFP or CTFA preferred

  • Trust Administration knowledge required

  • Tax background optional

Additional qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage large and complex accounts independently, with limited oversight

  • Willingness and desire to lead team to exceed individual and team-based goals

  • Trust Administration background and knowledge preferred; ability to review and interpret trust language

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Proven leadership capabilities and qualities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients and build new client relationships

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically as it relates to client and team needs

  • Ability to practice good judgment while making important client and business decisions

  • Effectively manage various projects and deadlines and prioritize each task appropriately

  • Ability to effectively work and lead others as part of a high-performing team

  • Ability to network and represent the Company at professional and business functions

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills

  • Strong team-player orientation

  • Ability to travel to various FTI offices and client locations

Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the base salary for this position to range between $180K - $265K plus an opportunity to earn other incentives, including bonus.
