Mortgage Operations Manager

Description:

The Mortgage Operations Manager is responsible for the administration and coordination of all mortgage loan servicing and/or operational functions. Establishes and administers policies and procedures to ensure compliance with various regulatory, investor, government, and corporate requirements. Hires, trains, motivates, and directs the activities of loan servicing or operational personnel to ensure procedures are properly and efficiently carried out.

Normal Day-to-Day Work

  1. Manage relationship and oversight with 1st Mortgage provider and servicer to ensure they stay updated on FNMA requirements, ensures staff has necessary tools to make referrals and that referrals are followed up on promptly, monitors and review service reports, and coordinates regularly scheduled meetings to review service levels.
  2. Creates and manages comprehensive and effective Loan Servicing Vendor Oversight Program to measure servicing vendor performance (trends, risks, and opportunities). If required, conduct onsite visits to servicer facilities as needed.
  3. Manages relationships with a coordinate's requests from auditors, Quality team, etc.
  4. Assists in developing, testing, and implementing supporting software applications and other projects that involve 1st Mortgage and Equity products.
  5. Reviews loan policy and guidelines for necessary revisions; makes recommendations for change to the VP of Operations to ensure current real estate lending policies and procedures are accurately documented and complies with state, federal and investor regulations, and guidelines. Implement controls and procedures for adherence to all requirements.
  6. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
  7. Participates in annual vendor due diligence review including securing required documentation to facilitate annual review.
  8. Coordinates with 1st Mortgage provider and servicer HMDA reports quarterly and annually as well as audits reports.
  9. Ensures regulatory and compliance rules are followed. (RESPA, TIL, HMDA, etc.)
  10. Reviews and approves funding wires as necessary.
  11. Participates in achieving strategic initiatives and Real Estate Lending goals.

Job Qualifications

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.

  1. Minimum 7-9 years of consumer mortgage loan operations environment as related to specific job functions.
  2. Thorough understanding of all aspects of mortgage lending, servicing, or operational policies and practices.
  3. Demonstrate ability to multi-task, prioritize, and accept change and function in a team environment and deal professionally with internal and external customers.
  4. Strong analytical, decision-making skills, organizational, and project management skills.
  5. Ability to function in a business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  6. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
  7. Some travel may be required.

  1. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 1-3 years of Credit Union mortgage loan operations environment experience as related to specific job functions.
  3. Possess strong computer skills.
  4. Ability to be resourceful and remain flexible.
