  • Location: Larimer County, CO
  • Status: Full-time, 40/hrs. week

What You'll Do:

  • The position works in conjunction with Larimer County Sheriff's Office, Loveland Police Department, Estes Park Police Department, and Johnstown Police Department. This position has multiple vacancies, and will either work in tandem with law enforcement (primary response model) or response to persons in crisis after being contacted by law enforcement officials (secondary response model).
  • The Behavioral Health Therapist, Co Responder is responsible for conducting crisis intervention services and responding to behavioral health emergencies in the community. These responses may include interviewing and evaluating persons who are presenting in crisis, placing persons in crisis on a mental health hold (M1) or emergency commitment (EC), consulting with other care providers, and linking persons with other community services.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring that cases presenting with multiple, complex clinical issues have the appropriate risk assessments and case coordination with internal and external resources to ensure client and community safety.
  • This role will provide consultation, coordination, and support to affiliated law enforcement agencies and other members of the criminal justice system.
  • This ideal candidate should have thorough knowledge of current best practices, including recovery concepts, and integrated treatment of individuals who have been diagnoses with a serious mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorder; thorough knowledge of community resources; ability to accurately evaluate clients' mental status; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement agents, clients and their families, employees, other service providers, community groups and the public and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Knowledge of diversity and inclusion with the relevant ability to engage, communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people of different backgrounds, identities, and culturally diverse communities.

SummitStone provides clinical supervision toward licensure at no cost to the employee, and reimburses any fees required for licensure. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate should have thorough knowledge of current best practices, including recovery concepts and integrated treatment of individuals who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorder; thorough knowledge of community resources, and ability to access these services; knowledge of the criminal justice system and the ability to assist clients with navigating the system; ability to accurately evaluate clients' mental status; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement agents, clients and their families, employees, other service providers, community groups and the public and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, or counseling is required; Valid CO driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion with the relevant ability to engage, communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people of different backgrounds, identities, and culturally diverse communities.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in psychology, social work, or counseling is preferred; Professional licensure; Experience in behavioral intervention; CAC II, III, or LAC; Experience with Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred

Some positions include driving a company vehicle and require a valid Colorado driver's license.

The typical hiring range for this position is based on relevant years of experience.

  • Unlicensed Therapist $50,003 - $60,008 annually
  • Licensed Therapist $58,011 - $69,618
