Vice President, Payment Products

The VP, Payment Products is responsible for managing and implementing operational strategy for Civic's payment products and services. This individual will drive innovation efforts for the traditional demand deposit account (DDA) and create key differentiators for Civic's digital focus on payment products. The VP, Payment Products will leverage a core understanding of traditional money movement products to design and implement innovative solutions that best suit members' needs.

Develop and support the online Civic strategy and develop tools and products to support members' needs for retail and business payment products and services. Stay up to date on the competitive landscape and lead large cross-functional teams in the management and development of payment products and services that create key differentiators for Civic. Improve upon the products and services that helped launch Civic, while also creating and sharing a vision that drives Civic to define the digital future of a rapidly changing industry.

Normal Day-to-Day Work

  1. Define, lead, and implement the strategic vision and roadmap for Civic's retail and business payment products. Oversee the development of new payment functions that align with the strategic business goals of the credit union.
  2. Leverage industry trends in technology and payment solutions to design and implement a product suite that anticipates members' changing financial needs in an ever-evolving digital landscape. Appropriately pivot solutions based on market opportunities.
  3. Develop standards and procedures to ensure the quality and performance of payment products and solutions are consistently met. Ensure money movement solutions remain in regulatory compliance.
  4. Lead the Payments business unit and align team initiatives with the organization's strategic vision. Oversee performance and effective management of staff members. Develop team roadmaps to achieve departmental goals.
  5. Develop and manage partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Drive cross-functional initiatives in support of Civic's digital strategy for payment products. Establish and integrate partnerships with third-party payment vendors.
  6. Lead the direct Payments, Deposit Product, Operations, and Risk teams and manage strong cross-functional collaboration with teams including Technology, Digital, Marketing, and collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment of development activities. Ensure member needs are met and anticipated to ensure strategic alignment across internal strategies and plans.
  7. Maintain a deep understanding of our members' needs, latest technology advancements, and business objectives to develop a leading payment product portfolio and roadmap in support of the credit union's vision.
  8. Display integrity, self-awareness, courage, and respect for staff while ensuring learning agility and flexibility communicating and delegating effectively to staff.

Job Qualifications

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.

  1. Minimum 7-9 years' experience working in payments and money movement products.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in product design and development, including 3-5 in management.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in retail, business, and card payment products, technology, product planning and development processes. Knowledge should include: Digital payment innovation trends, products (Including Cards, Real-Time Payments, etc.), and the processors, networks, and other relevant stakeholders in the payment verticals.
  4. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  5. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
  6. Travel required on occasion.

Here are a few qualifications we'd LIKE you to have to make you more suited for this position.

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  2. Experience researching and developing innovative digital payment products and services at a financial institution.
  3. Knowledge of digital financial products and services.
