UCF's Advancement & Partnerships division comprises the Office of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving and the UCF Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to assist donors wishing to offer private support to deliver resources beyond traditional funding sources, such as tuition, state support, and government research grants. We are a powerful team of 130+ professionals who support the university by soliciting, accepting, and managing gifts as well as engaging alumni. Together, we work with alumni, friends, corporations, parents, and others who seek to make gifts in support of priorities and initiatives in alignment with the university's strategic plan.

The Opportunity:

The Prospect Research Manager I plays an essential role in analyzing the UCF pipeline through portfolio management to provide insights and strategy that drive activity in the ambitious annual fundraising goals of UCF Advancement. The Prospect Research Manager applies sophisticated knowledge and skills for strategic data review and analysis through the creation of reports and data extracts using Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and/or advanced CRM query/export to design effective relationship strategies that accelerate philanthropic investment in UCF. The Prospect Research Manager serves as a training resource for Advancement fundraising staff working in partnership with key stakeholders to design and implement internal prospect management policies, procedures, and technological solutions to create efficiencies and effectiveness in Advancement's fundraising enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development, analysis, and optimization of 20-30 fundraiser portfolios, dependent upon fundraiser staffing levels.

  • Manages the facilitation of bi-annual Unit/College specific pipeline meetings, quarterly one-to-one portfolio consultations, and ad-hoc strategy sessions with fundraisers.

  • Manages the maintenance, review, and monitoring of pipeline data through custom report audits and data extracts, data analyses, and ongoing communication with partners in UCF Advancement to ensure accuracy in pipeline projections, fundraiser performance, and fundraising outcomes reporting.

  • Manages, develops, and guides the (future) Prospect Management Strategy Analyst; Prospect Management Data Analytics interns, and work/study students.

  • Manages the design, development, and implementation of prospect management training modules including prospect management in CRM, policies and procedures, Tableau dashboards, and fundraising fundamentals modules required of new employees to gain access to the Advancement database.

  • In partnership with key stakeholders designs and implements internal prospect management policies, procedures, and strategies for technological solutions to create efficiencies and effectiveness in Advancement's fundraising enterprise.

  • In partnership with the Senior Director, Prospect Development and BI team, conceptualize, analyze, and contribute to the design of comprehensive, unit-wide data visualization reports that include assessments of portfolios, pipelines, development officer and unit progress to goals, and pool saturation using front-end data application software such as CRM query/export and Tableau Server.

  • Monitors and reports on the performance of the overall Prospect Management function of the Prospect Development team to ensure activity and outcomes create a positive impact on Advancement's fundraising goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related experience and 1+ year(s) of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years of related experience, including or in addition to, 1 year of management experience

  • A minimum of 3 years in prospect management, fundraising, or nonprofit environment preferred.
