Pyrotechnique by Grucci is an explosives manufacturing firm, specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of a range of munitions and training simulations. We partner with the United States Department of Defense so we can support our troops with our products.

Located on the Radford Army Ammunition Plant for over twenty years, we welcome you to join our Virginia team!

We are hiring Production Assemblers. We are looking for hardworking and motivated individuals with a strong focus on meeting benchmarks. These positions are vital to the smooth flow of the production line and in helping meet customer shipping schedules.

Base schedule: 4 day work week,

*overtime scheduled when necessary to meet shipping schedule

Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:00am

Shift Differential Starting Rate: $19.75/hour

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS, include but not limited to

  1. Be able to read, speak, and understand English.
  2. Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Be able to work and communicate well with others.
  4. Be able to work well under the pressure of ensuring that requirements and specifications are met.
  5. Be able to read at Level 4 on the Graham-Field Eye Test Card (Jaeger Eye Test).
  6. Must be able to receive clearance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).
  7. Be able to work with minimal supervision.
  8. Be able to work alone or in a team setting.
  9. Be familiar with manufacturing and quality practices.
  10. Be able to learn each function of the manufacturing process as it relates to their department.
  11. Be able to work in an ever-changing environment.
  12. Be able to work all overtime as required to ensure job is complete and shipping requirements met.


JOB DUTIES, include but not limited to

  1. Operate an over-lock sewing machine and a double needle sewing machine and attachments efficiently, if required.
  2. Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures for the manufacture of igniter bags.
  3. Produce daily requirement of product in order to meet customer order by contracted shipment schedule.
  4. Take part in the standard workflow as product progresses through the build process.
  5. Ensure line feed is kept consistent for continual production flow.
  6. Complete necessary paperwork associated with job completion along with Weekly Time Sheets, Assembly Inspections Sheets and Flow Cards as specified by procedure.
  7. Ensure Department / Division / Job Codes are correctly recorded on all applicable paperwork.
  8. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  9. Dispose of explosive materials in the proper containers.
  10. Obey all company work and safety rules.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, include but not limited to

  1. Must be able to work with propellants.
  2. Must be able to stand, sit, bend, push, and pull for 8 to 12 hours per shift.
  3. Must be able to lift 8 lbs. on a continuous basis.
  4. Must be able to lift, push, or pull up 8 to 30 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  5. Must be able to wear a respirator if required.
