Summary For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $3,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Surgical Technologists with 1-3 years of experience and $10,000 for experienced Surgical Technologists with greater than 3 years of experience! Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full time CST position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment. Position Summary The Surgical Technologist provides assistance to the surgeon and Operating Room RN during the intra-operative phase of peri-operative care. Functions under the supervision of the Operating Room RN and surgeon during the intra-operative phase of care. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology. License/Certifications: Current BCLS and certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required. Experience: N/A Adheres to applicable CST policies and standards, and remains within the scope of certified surgical technologist practice guidelines Demonstrates knowledge of the step-by-step process of specific surgical procedures and displays dexterity in the use of the required instrumentation Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of asepsis and infection prevention Demonstrates an understanding of the anatomy and operative techniques pertinent to the case being performed Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with members of the healthcare team Skill in time management, problem-solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination Ability to maintain professional manner even under stressful situations Additional Information MaineHealth was ranked one of America's Best Large Employers in 2022 by Forbes!
