Candidates should be board certified or board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease, Level III trained in Echocardiography and have the expertise to direct and work closely with administrative leadership to oversee the operations of our multi-faceted Echo lab and practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the Cardiology Division Chief and with other Division, Departmental, and Health System leaders in developing and executing strategies for continued growth of the echo lab and cardiology practice, as well as in furthering research and the training mission of the Echocardiography Cardiology section. The candidate will be an outstanding clinician who is either a nationally recognized or an upcoming clinical and academic leader in Echocardiography Cardiology. Applicants must hold MD (or equivalent degree), MD/PhD (or equivalent degree), or MD/MPH (or equivalent degree) degree(s) and be qualified for appointment at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate or the Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to continue the Echocardiography Cardiology program's growth and ensure that we provide world-class service to our patients in the Bay Area and beyond. Faculty recruit may perform duties as an attending physician in the cardiac catheterization lab for structural cases, the cardiology inpatient and consult service, and will also have an ambulatory practice. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
