The Job

Reporting to the IT/Facility Manager, the Facility Technician will have primary responsibility for all facilities in Pleasanton, CA. These include current facilities on Koll Center Parkway and our future facility at 4747 Willow Road. This person will be responsible for ensuring that all building systems are consistently operational, all facilities are regularly cleaned and maintained (inside and out), and that any modifications are completed as timely as possible. Facilities and amenities in excellent condition are essential for the successful operations of the company, and this is the number one focus for the Facility Technician.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth running of Pleasanton facilities
• Assist Facility and IT Manager with management of other facilities worldwide
• Keep all systems in top condition with proactive maintenance to ensure zero down time
• Manage service providers for all aspects of Pleasanton facilities, including landscape, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, janitorial, etc.
• Maintain proper documentation records for scheduled and completed maintenance activities
• Ensure timely support from service providers for both emergencies and regular service
• Facilitate modifications of systems or layouts in facilities to meet evolving business requirements
• Actively participate with buildout of 4747 Willow Road facility; acquiring intimate knowledge of all new and refurbished systems
• Manage and monitor security access, intrusion and fire alarms, and other system controls (HVAC, etc.)
• Lead and coordinate move to 4747 Willow Road
• Perform minor repairs as appropriate
• Walk facility and grounds daily to proactively identify any issues to resolve and to ensure facility is always kept at a high aesthetic and operational standard
• Supervise janitorial and landscape contractors to ensure consistent, top-level service
• Facilitate equipment moves, modifications and any related building system modifications
• Provide safety management, advice, monitoring and reporting for the facilities, and engage employees in programs that ensure a safe working environment
• Facilitate room and facilities setups for team and company events as needed
• Work with receptionist and administration team members to ensure snack and coffee bars and cafe are consistently stocked with drinks and snacks

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in supporting a large-scale facility or facilities
• Basic HVAC and building system knowledge
• Work well independently with minimal supervision
• Resolution-oriented, well-organized, and able to juggle multiple tasks with an appropriate sense of urgency
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and customers
• Two years relevant technical or vocational education preferable
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds and easily move around facilities and equipment
• Able to work after typical office hours for emergencies or events
