Faculty (Associate Professor) - Psychologist II

The Faculty (Associate Professor) - Psychologist II will provide neuropsychological assessments and, as needed, psychological consultation and intervention services to individuals served by the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD). The incumbent will participate in the training of predoctoral externs, doctoral interns, and postdoctoral residents; initiate and participate in innovative programs; design and conduct formal courses and workshops; and participate in research activities. Primary clinical responsibilities will be for individuals ages 1 year through young adult; although services may be provided to individuals from birth throughout the lifespan.

Coordinate and lead research projects within the Department or together with other disciplines.
1. Develop, deliver, and coach others in the implementation of trainings and design of coursework for professionals and para-professionals.
2. Select, administer, and score psychological tests to assess intellectual functioning, personality structure, interest, aptitudes, academic achievement, presence/absence of autism spectrum disorder and other mental health disorders.
3. Interpret test findings based upon current research in psychological assessment and available evidence-based approaches.
4. Write timely reports that adequately convey relevant patient background, test results, diagnostic interpretations, recommendations, and next step management/strategy plans.
5. Participate in weekly case conferences to discuss and evaluate the diagnoses and treatment/management of patients and formulate rehabilitation plans.
6. Provide interpretative information to parents and/or primary caregivers (including teachers, therapists); may provide short-term counseling to parents for effecting changes in child management.
7. Conduct intake interviews to ascertain the needs of clients, and document the results of these interviews in a timely fashion.
8. Enter results from psychological and/or neuropsychological evaluations into the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) database.
9. Enter reports into the Epic system within the Institute-mandated 14-day timeframe.
10. Maintain productivity standards.
11. Maintain documentation and reporting standards.
12. Participate in the training of predoctoral externs, doctoral interns, and postdoctoral residents in psychology and trainees from other disciplines in principles of psychology with emphasis on assessment and intervention for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
13. Assist CARD's Executive Director in the development of clinical initiatives.
14. Mentor other department or Institute faculty at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level in research.

• Licensure as a psychologist in Maryland is required.
• Credentialed as a Licensed Psychologist by the Kennedy Krieger Institute Medical Staff, with specialty privilege in Clinical Neuropsychology.

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA)/Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)-accredited college or university is required.
• Completion of APA/CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship is required.
• Two-year postdoctoral residency in clinical neuropsychology is required.

A minimum of five years of experience (beyond postdoctoral training) working with a population of children with intellectual/neurodevelopmental disabilities is required.
