The U.S. STEEL TUBULAR PRODUCTS, INC. is seeking an Oil Country Tubular Goods Technical Sales Manager to work in Houston, Texas. The Manager will be required to perform the following duties: (1) promote and sell USS products to Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) customers by understanding market needs and the competitive landscape; (2) Collect technical details and parameters regarding oil & gas end user drilling, completion and production processes, designs and strategies; (3) Work with USSTP researchers, metallurgical engineers, drilling engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with customer technical requirements; (4) Review drilling plans, blueprints, drawings, and specifications to customize the USS product offering; (5) Monitor product performance and guiding customer in optimal utilization; (6) Work with customers to ensure a cost-effective supply chain; (7) Develop and implementing long-term value propositions and short-term tactical initiatives that will differentiate USS, improve profitability, and grow share with existing and new customers; (8) Fully understand customer pain points to upgrade the product mix and improve operating margin, inventories and shipping performance; and (9) Provide U. S. Steel with current information regarding market conditions, pricing and new product development and related business intelligence. Must have eight years of technical sales experience for the OCTG products market. Experience required with the following: (1) technical experience with API specifications and experience with regional requirements for pipe and connection performance and specifications; (2) experience with technical capabilities and identification of the need for Premium metal to metal gas tight products, Semi-Premium products, and API products; (3) technical sales experience selling OCTG tubing and casing accessories; (4) experience with OCTG products and technologies utilized to operate on shore versus offshore; (5) experience with products and technology required in Hydraulic Fracturing and extended reach laterals; (6) experience with casing designs, well depths, environmental concerns, and experience recommending specific products for these applications; and (7) experience successfully managing a sales team. Domestic travel required up to 40% of the time. Competency Summary At U. S.
