Senior Director, Global Data Governance

KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Director, Global Data Governance to join our Global Data team which is part of KPMG International.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Data Governance Operating Model including role definitions and accountabilities, charters, progress dashboards, published minutes, decision logs, change controls, data issue management and waiver processes
  • Build, develop and lead a team of skilled and high performing data professionals that delivers business value and optimizes cost and speed to insight to meet the needs of Member Firms and Global Functions
  • Provide consultation and support for the rollout, adoption and alignment to the Global Data Standard and Data Governance Operating Model; develop and implement processes in coordination with the Technology organization to integrate data standards into the application development methodologies and necessary architectural reviews and funding gates
  • Coordinate with the Member Firms and Global Functions to define Global Data Standards with a cross functional Global Data Working Group consistent with applicable regulations, professional firm standards and best practices, including data privacy and protection components
  • Organize and facilitate key working groups such as the Global Data Working Group and Global Data Stewards Forums; collaborate with other Global Data colleagues to deliver data use cases to meet business objectives

Qualifications:

  • Minimum twelve years of recent direct leadership experience of a Data Governance team or similar organizations
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Master's degree from an accredited college/university preferred
  • Ability to understand the complexity of a matrixed professional services firm / partnership; demonstrated ability to lead in a matrixed manner; able to maintain a flexible schedule due to travel, deadlines and/or duties outside of normal business hours due to global nature of the role
  • Proven track record influencing diverse sets of stakeholders and driving common outcomes
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills to lead in an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; ability to direct, motivate and empower others to work towards the organization's goals, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across multiple functions
  • Capable of ensuring the execution of strategic initiatives for the organization as well as to address emerging opportunities and how organization should be organized/staffed to realize them
