Program Management Director - Planning, Performance, and Insights

The RoleAspen Technology is looking for a Program Director of Planning, Performance, and Insights reporting to Vice President, Planning, Performance, and Outcomes (PPO). This will be a passionate leader who embraces and anticipates the challenges of evolving our organization for future acceleration and growth and who effectively collaborates with and works across all functional areas of the business.

Responsibilities will include facilitating and driving accountability for high-impact, visible and varied challenges across our global footprint and will be measured by the candidate's ability to increase leverage and velocity for the leadership team.

This person will be involved in a wide range of activities, from the highly strategic to the tactical, taking a hands-on approach in leading and facilitating a variety of initiatives and activities. The position requires an individual who can come in and quickly gain the institutional knowledge to understand how to get things done at AspenTech, leveraging interpersonal and collaboration skills to influence the change required to deliver business value.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of effectively leading performance and outcome-based initiatives, and defining and executing targeted plans in a complex, fast-moving environment. This leader must have experience in establishing metrics and KPIs, simplification, and execution. Your Impact
  • Focus on key initiatives and performance for AspenTech business units and functions.
  • Working jointly with key stakeholders establish a Value Assurance review process for the Strategic and Productivity Dimension with a focus to provide clarity and visibility into the initiatives that AspenTech determines are the most critical.
  • Provide quality assurance assessments focused on predictable project execution, business ownership, business value and adherence to project controls. Identify value risks and engage with owners and stakeholders on mitigation plans.
  • Provides oversight to projects of high importance, including settling priorities, driving accountability and measuring progress towards successful outcomes.
  • Work with leaders across the enterprise to review and refine their leading success KPIs, measure financial impact, evaluate progress to milestones, and when needed, work cross-functionally to resolve roadblocks.
  • Tracks progress of performance-based initiatives and related outcomes set by the CEO or executive team.
  • Provide insights and analysis to inform programs and initiatives performance status conversations, and tracking follow through to increase accountability.
  • Support the VP, PPO in evolving the various corporate dashboards and scorecards.
  • Support the VP, PPO and Executive Team members in preparing materials for meetings with CEO, Executive Team and the Board of Directors.
  • Identify areas of opportunity and recommend actions to drive improved efficiency and effectiveness across the enterprise by focusing on process, systems, and data.
What You'll Need
  • 5+ years of experience in similar role: Operations Manager, Business Reporting & Analytics, Consultant, etc. within a technology setting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail demonstrating an ability to set objectives and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals. Is also comfortable identifying and generating opportunities to drive additional value for the organization.
  • BA/BS, MBA highly desirable.
  • Strong operational/project/program management experience.
  • Exceptional project leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Strong quantitative ability paired with excellent consultative, negotiating, listening, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated bias for action with strengths in problem solving an issue-resolution.
  • Success navigating in a matrix structure, with strong abilities to influence and build support for process change initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven work environment, attention to detail, and multitasking are essential. Ability to adjust to multiple tasks and demands and constantly shifting priorities under tight deadlines and time constraints.
  • Consultative approach with strong problem-solving ability, process-driven mindset, and ability to deliver with minimal direct supervision.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to prioritize and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization (without formal authority).
  • Six Sigma Certified and/or PMP certification is a plus.
