Job Overview:

Responsible for the strategic direction of MBUSA's brand positioning within the retail network. Subject matter expert within the greater network Development team regarding key brands, including EQ, AMG, Maybach, and G-Class. Network lead for all topics related to EQ/electric vehicle business development. This includes the creation and ongoing management of requirements for dealer network electric vehicle charging infrastructure, as well as marketing and sales/service incentive support to drive business growth within the EQ brand. Works cross-functionally with other departments across the organization to support the growth of electric vehicle sales and service in the U.S., particularly in regards to supporting the growth and electric vehicle readiness of the retail network. Responsible for dealership network sustainability initiatives, including but not limited to the goal of achieving carbon neutrality in the U.S.

Network lead for "Top-End Vehicle" initiatives, which includes the brands of AMG, Maybach, and G-Class. Works closely with the global AMG team to adapt AMG initiatives and retail formats for success in the U.S. market. Integrates dealership and field feedback and factors in U.S. market conditions to create innovative and successful Top-End Vehicle network initiatives. U.S. lead for the network expansion of Maybach and G-Class brands, including the development of new customer-facing retail formats. Provides strategic guidance as needed for the Mercedes-Benz Vans team on topics involving Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car network structure and performance measurement. Works closely with the Lead, Network Transformation on global network topics, including the development of alternative retail formats and greenfield/brownfield network studies.

Responsibilities:

EQ Business Development (40%)

- Primary point of contact within the Network Development team for external vendors related to the EQ business, including approved charging vendors and vendors responsible for the sale/installation of EQ dealership point of sale materials.

- Create the next generation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure requirements to ensure dealerships have the capacity to meet consumer sales and service demands for electric vehicles.

- Develop and maintain effective tracking of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

- Develop and maintain effective tracking of electric vehicle point of sale materials and EQ-specific marketing.

- Work closely with the field teams to track and validate the progress of dealership transformation in preparation for a higher proportion of electric vehicle sales/service.

- Work closely with cross-functional business units in support of incentive measures intended to grow the EQ brand and offset costs of the dealership transformation toward selling electric vehicles.

- Provide strategic guidance for the Dealer Performance Bonus regarding effective methods to drive electric vehicle sales and network readiness.

Top-End Vehicle Initiatives (30%)

- Business Owner of Network Development's Top-End Vehicle strategy, focusing on profitable growth of the AMG, Maybach, and G-Class brands.

- Align closely with the global Top-End Vehicle teams to develop U.S.-specific network strategies for growing the customer awareness and brand power of the AMG, Maybach, and G-Class brands.

- Maintain in-depth knowledge of U.S. dealership and network operations to ensure Top-End Vehicle initiatives not only grow, but also enhance profitability and safeguard enterprise value for U.S. dealerships.

- Develop all-new retail formats, focused around the growth of the AMG, Maybach, and G-Class brands. Investigate the business implications of adding new retail formats, and advise on practical applications of these formats within the existing dealership network.

Sustainability Measures (15%)

- Subject matter expert and strategic lead for U.S. dealership network sustainability measures.

- Work closely with the MBAG global network team to track dealership sustainability efforts and implement measures to advance progress toward carbon neutrality for the U.S. Mercedes-Benz dealership network.

- Explore opportunities to reduce Mercedes-Benz USA's carbon footprint in advance of stated timelines.

Mercedes-Benz Vans Strategic Support (10%)

- Provide strategic guidance to the Mercedes-Benz Vans team in regard to dealership network topics as needed.

- Maintain in-depth knowledge of both Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car dealership operations and Mercedes-Benz Vans dealership operations. This includes knowledge of business practices on both the sales and customer service sides of the business, as well as familiarity with dealership ownership structure.

- Provide guidance on Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car implications for Vans initiatives planned to be presented to Executive Management via the Network Steering Committee.

Global Network Topics (10%)

- Work closely with the global network team in support of any ad-hoc requests related to the U.S. adaptation of global network initiatives.

- Develop working knowledge of the differences between business operations in the U.S. vs. other markets around the world.

- Provide feedback on best practices and learnings gained from program implementation within the U.S. market.

Qualifications

Qualifications/ Education:

Education

- Degree in Automotive Management/Business Management/Finance/Economics/Data Science/Computer Science/Statistics/Engineering/Law

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in automotive retail, OEM operations, consulting, business strategy, or data science

Experience

- In-depth knowledge of the United States automotive dealership landscape

- In-depth understanding of automotive retail and service processes

- Experience working at an automotive OEM or automotive dealership preferred

- Experience in electric vehicle sales or service industry preferred

- Experience managing outside vendors preferred

- Legal background a plus, but not required

- Experience working in Commercial Vehicle (Vans) sales or service a plus, but not required

Skills

- Knowledge of electric vehicle sales/service industry and charging infrastructure

- Familiarity with AMG, Maybach, and G-Class brands

- German language proficiency is a plus, but not required

- Passion for the rapid implementation of sustainability measures

- Ability to interact effectively and enact change at all levels of an organization

- Ability to manage multiple priority sets within a complex, dynamic environment

- Experience tracking performance by utilizing KPI's and providing feedback on KPI effectiveness and performance trends

- Meticulous attention to detail and critical thinking

- Experience utilizing market research sources and tools, and utilizing data analytics to find actionable insights

- Experienced and passionate public speaker with emphasis on effective storytelling

- Proficient with all common Microsoft applications, including advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint

- Proficiency in MBUSA platforms and reporting systems a plus

- Proficiency in designing a presentation to tell a story - providing clear, concrete, and compelling evidence to support a business case

Education
