Job Overview

The purpose of this position is to identify field quality issues in Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the US market and to manage the problem solving process. This includes the cross functional collaboration with Research and Development, the assembly plants worldwide and the part suppliers. An additional task is to negotiate warranty cost chargeback ("vendor recovery") with localized suppliers in USA and Mexico based on the defined acceptance rates from the field quality analysis process.

Responsibilities

- Identify new quality issues or unjustified warranty claims by analyzing defective field parts in the Interior/Exterior commodity

- Negotiate acceptance rates and warranty chargeback with suppliers

- Identify process weaknesses and implement optimizations with the objective to make the processes more efficient

- Negotiate warranty chargeback to local suppliers in USA and Mexico based on the acceptance rate from the field quality analysis results

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education

Master's or Bachelor's Degree (accredited school) or equivalent work experience with emphasis in:

Quality Assurance: Knowledge of accounting standards, statistical analysis, precision measurement, and process capability

Process optimization: Analysis and optimization of processes

Business Administration

Knowledge

Must have 5-7 years (total) of experience in the following:

Automotive Technical - Knowledge of automotive technical information systems and repair/diagnostic

procedures.

Parts and Accessories - Knowledge of parts and accessories businesses, marketing strategies and other business practices.

Processing - Knowledge of processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques in order to achieve maximum efficiency.

Quality Assurance - Knowledge of accounting standards, statistical analysis, precision measurement, and process capability.

Vendor Management - Knowledge of Agency/Vendor management and budget management.

Skills, Abilities & MBUSA Knowledge

Other Skills:

Interact in an international context with e.g. German Expats and / or international suppliers

Language Skills:

Proficiency in English. German & Spanish are a plus.
