Job Overview:

The New Model Launch, Campaign Recall Supervisor has two key areas of focus. The first is responsibility for achieving a network inventory strategy for service parts supporting campaigns and recalls, including specifically the Diesel Emissions Program, which is a Global Daimler vehicle modification program for passenger cars and commercial vans. This role must ensure optimal parts availability in all Parts Distribution Centers (PDCs) to properly service the national dealer network who in turn must support modification of thousands of vehicles within a given timeframe. This role is responsible for ensuring strict parts availability compliance per government regulations that have been legislated across all states. The stakes of non-compliance are extremely high and close collaboration with Engineering both locally and in Germany plus the Global Logistics Teams must be adhered at all times throughout the programs lifecycle.

The second area of focus is responsibility for the overall new model launch process within Parts Logistics. The new model launch parts logistics process begins when MB NAFTA decides to bring a new model (e.g. new model year, face-lift, or all-new model) into the U.S., and ends 1 year after the effective market launch date. It covers all logistics steps from defining which parts will be required for the new model, ensuring those parts are available in MBUSA's PDC at launch, ensuring transportation costs targets are met, and until those parts are handed over to regular planning for ongoing supply chain planning. The incumbent actively manages process interfacing with Product Management/Sales, Mercedes-Benz Global Logistics, MB Dealers, MB Accessories, Dealer Assistance Center, Transportation group, Parts Distribution Centers, and MB NAFTA Executive Management.

Responsibilities:

Campaign/Recall - P85:

- Responsible for forecasting, planning and replenishment of parts requirements for NAFTA Campaigns and Recalls, more specifically Diesel modifications.

- Actively manages order review and release process to ensure appropriate volumes and frequency of orders

- Analyze and execute KPI improvements, leveraging supply chain activity assets such as transfers, airfreight orders, obsolescence, and Material Master Maintenance.

- Ensures all retail back-orders are adequately addressed and reconciled with DAC and/or Parts Technical

- Planning and controlling all Diesel parts supply project budgets and costs. Target oriented controlling of the project, as well as assignment tracking. Ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope and within budget.

- Project management and steering of the project group - performing milestone planning and tracking. Establish and apply efficient communication methods and channels within in the project. Highlight deviations regarding aligned processes and escalate to the responsible party. Create reports for the steering committee, head office regarding milestones, and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Perform risk management procedures and implement counter-measures.

- Relocation management for reuse and ramp-up of the new Vance PDC

- Interface with multiple global partners such as GSP/ODM, GSP/OGNA, SUV/GSP, and GSP/ODW. Interact closely with GSP/ODM headquarters and represent GSP/ODM in the NAFTA-project.

New Model Launch Planning:

- Manage frequent process reviews and optimizations which all stakeholders (Mercedes-Benz GLC, Dealers, Product Management, Dealers Assistance Center, PDCs, MB Accessories, Transportation).

- Managing the entire process from an operational perspective, e.g. ensuring all process stakeholders (Mercedes-Benz GLC, DAC, Product Management, MB Accessories, PDCs, and Transportation) are following the process and held accountable to their deliverables, etc.

- Planning and replenishment of new model parts.

- Responsible to define which parts will be needed for new vehicle launch (includes new model year, face-lift, all-new model launch).

- Decides which parts will be added or removed from initial Mercedes-Benz selection.

- Decides on required order volume for launch, taking into account all potential demand from launch date to 1st year of ownership (Service/Maintenance).

- Manages parts specification process with Dealer Assistance Center to decide which parts are U.S. versions, which not. Responsible to ensure that US launch parts make it on Mercedes-Benz AG's launch list with the correct priority.

- Manages and decides on Mercedes-Benz escalations to E4 and E3 level when needed for any of the above.

- Responsible to ensure Parts Logistics and other MB NAFTA launch stakeholders agree on overall launch date.

- Decides on ideal Parts Logistics launch date based on availability, constraints, past experience, and judgement.

- Responsible to find agreement on launch date with MBUSA Product Management in case of conflict between Sales interest and Logistics interest.

- Manages and decides on Mercedes-Benz/MBUSA escalations to E4 and E3 level when needed for any of above.

- Responsible for successful achievement of launch service-level targets for parts availability.

- Manages order placement process (decides when to places orders in what quantities).

- Creates and generates relevant KPIs for launch service-level tracking.

- Decides whether service level trend is on track or if ship mode change and/or escalations are required (E3/E4). Responsible for Dealer launch preorder process and Dealer parts push process.

- Decides on dealer parts baskets for preorder and push processes, taking into account needs of all relevant stakeholders (MB Accessories, Product Management, Dealer Parts Council, DAC, and Engineering Services).

- Aligns decision with dealer network by managing dealer "buy-in" process through DPC. Manages dealer escalations in case of conflict.

- Manages and decides on Mercedes-Benz/MB NAFTA escalations to E4 and E3 level when needed for any of the above. Responsible for launch freight cost budget (parts transportation costs). Responsible to achieve freight cost $ target. Decides on ideal shipping mode based on cost optimization (Sea, Air, Emergency air) and customer urgency (Based on freight mode lead-time).

- Manages escalations to E4 and E3 level when needed on any of the above.

- Responsible for all Logistics Launch Communications.

- Responsible for monthly Executive Management review (decides on content and format).

- Creates and is responsible for all MB NAFTA internal and Dealer Launch communications (parts availability information, critical back-order information, ETA information, order/process/deadline information) NCUs, webinars, phone conferences, staff meetings, and face to face dealer meeting.

Qualifications

Qualifications/ Education:

- Bachelor's Degree (accredited school) or equivalent work experience

- Bachelor's Degree Must have 10 years (total) of experience in the following:

- Accounting --> General Knowledge of internal controls, recording and reporting of financial transactions, including the origination of the transaction, its recognition, processing, and summarization in the financial statements.

- Automotive-Retail --> General Knowledge of retail processes and procedures, with emphasis in New and Pre-owned sales, accessories, service and parts.

- Business - General --> Comprehensive Knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the organization.

- Business Management --> Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, human resource management and efficiency and process methods.

- Integrated Supply Chain Management (ISCM) --> Knowledge of the principles and methodology for a process-orientated, integrated approach to procuring, producing, and delivering products and services to customers.

- Quality Assurance --> Proficient Knowledge of accounting standards, statistical analysis, precision measurement, and process capability.

- Risk Management --> General Knowledge of fundamental business practices, concepts and techniques to protect and preserve assets and/or minimize/control loss, such as avoidance, loss prevention and reduction, retention, grouping of exposure units, and transfer. Should include knowledge of fidelity, surety, liability, property, and group related policies and coverages.

- Vendor Management --> Knowledge of Agency/Vendor management and budget management.
