KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our Global Independence Group which is a part of KPMG International.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on SEC and PCAOB independence rules and how they are adopted into firm policy (in the Global Quality & Risk Management Manuel Chapter 20)
  • Support member firms through the independence aspects of a PCAOB inspection from the planning for the inspection through to the formal responses after the inspection
  • Work with other members of GIG and other GQ&RM functions to proactively identify emerging issues from PCAOB inspections and/or GIG monitoring of independence matters, to support timely interventions in advance of PCAOB inspections where necessary
  • Review the materials submitted by a member firm in respect of SEC Independence Clearances Process and work with the GIG partner or director who will provide the required approval of both the member firm's independence evaluation and subsequent audit committee communication
  • Develop and maintain deep relationships with key individuals from member firms who are registered with and subject to inspection by the PCAOB

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of recent experience working independently and with team members while handling competing priorities
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or similar type of accreditation
  • Understanding of the SEC and PCAOB independence rules and KPMG's independence clearance process preferred but not required
  • Strong Understanding of the PCAOB inspection process is preferred but not required
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply the SEC and PCAOB independence rules is essential
  • Experience of working in a Risk Management, Independence or Compliance role preferred but not required
