Sodexo School Services is seeking a Senior Manager, Nutrition Systems - Schools for the Northeast Region. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for USDA and State Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Child Nutrition Program (CNP) regulations, as well as the Sodexo regional menu system standards and practices for a defined geography that aligns with an SVP or VP.

While this position is primarily virtual, the ideal candidate will need to travel within the region to support operations from time to time.

The Senior Manager, Nutrition Systems - Schools position manages the Region's Nutrition Systems Database. This position will have direct oversight of a Dietetic Tech position that supports database and menu maintenance throughout the region. The Senior Manager, Nutrition Systems is an integral part of the Regional Leadership team and works closely with the District Managers, Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, Sales & Retention leaders.

Summary of Responsibilities include:

    Ensures compliance with Federal and State standards and other regulatory requirements related to the administration of the school food service program, as well as with Sodexo's templates and standards for customer service;
  • Works with operations constituents in areas relating to the menu management process, including financial impact, product compliance, successful completion of USDA audits, collaboration with the menu planning committee members and specifically the Database Specialists and Supply Management Coordinators; and
  • Supporting menu development process for sales proposals and new account openings, including menu creation and training of new personnel on the nutrition software system for menu planning and production.

The successful candidate will:

  • Partner closely with Senior Manager-Marketing, Purchasing and Regional Executive Chef, in selecting healthy menu items, evaluating sales and determining what can be offered differently, and promoting nutritional campaigns;
  • Manage, develop and maintain nutrition education programs;
  • Create communications intended to motivate and engage the workforce in healthy eating habits;
  • Work with nutrition issues related to food allergies, weight management and disordered eating patterns and other medical issues requiring meal selection assistance;
  • Assist in the development of Health Fairs, community events and develop and deliver presentations as needed to support client goals; and/or
  • Engage in tasks to assist in the effective operations of the region (i.e. communications tasks);
  • Provide direction for planning strategic goals, standards of the brand and maintaining effective communication with other managers and inter-department liaisons; and/or
  • Be a key advisor to RVP and DMs in the matters of unit operations from a Menu System perspective.

  • A Registered Dietitian credential or who are eligible for license;
  • primary residence in New England, New York, Ohio, or Pennsylvania; preferred;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels;
  • The proven ability to effectively engage, motivate and influence others regarding their nutrition;
  • Strong presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with the ability to adapt the changing needs of the role;
  • A history of working independently with little direction;
  • A commitment to continued education in the nutrition field and implementation of new and innovative ideas to implement; and/or
  • The ability to ensure proper and equitable translations of materials for students and the community.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years
