SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for contemporizing our sales operations. The person in this role must be strategic and a visionary. They must be able to synthesize various data points and simplify complex information. They will lead the design, development and execution of the Distribution technology vision. They will need to consistently collaborate with critical partners in IT, legal, compliance, sales user experience and others. The ultimate measure of success is leveraging technology to maximize productive capacity. Major areas of focus are lead management, customer relationship management, and communication technologies. Must be comfortable in an agile environment and balancing the demands of multiple stakeholders.

BUSINESS ACCOUNTABILTIES:

Ownership of all Distribution business technology products which includes managing the vision and execution of product development throughout the development lifecycle to ensure a viable product is built that maximizes the return on investment and generates growth and GWP.

Act as a liaison between the development team and end users to ensure the needs and requirements of all key stakeholders are met.

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Develop & manage agency management platforms (such as APEX) including:



  • Build operating delivery system
  • Design capability roadmaps
  • Creation of business cases for funding and capital budget submissions
  • Ownership of Agile release train structure
  • Collaborate with end users to understand and anticipate needs and integrate their feedback into product requirements
  • Lead data management and reporting teams supporting Distribution technology products



Develop & manage field accountability platforms (such as SFEA) including:



  • Design capability roadmaps
  • Collaborate with end users to understand and anticipate needs and integrate their feedback into product requirements
  • Build technology relationships with third parties (e.g., productivity software tools) to ensure excellency in technology end user experiences for agencies, districts, and Farmers field employees
  • Lead Distribution technology Agile portfolio management process
  • Explores new and emerging technologies in order to continuously improve distribution technology platforms
  • Provide technical, functional and product expertise to deliver modernization solutions for current technology platforms
  • Leads the planning, budgeting and change management process for the entire distribution technology strategy

  • Distribution, Life, and Financial Services leadership team
  • Key Stakeholders in BUs (e.g., Personal Lines, Business Insurance, Service Operations, etc.)
  • Key Functions (e.g., Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk, U of F, HR, etc.)
  • Data Analytics and Finance



External:



  • Outside consultants and technology-based vendors



PEOPLE MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITIES:




  • Lead a technology product management team that manages individual 'value streams' or products from end to end
  • Lead Agile release train support personnel including program managers, and technology enablers (e.g., reporting and data management personnel)
  • Collaborate and influence peers within and outside of Distribution


TRAVEL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Domestic travel as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, data analytics or commensurate experience in technology fields
  • Professional certifications and MBA preferred
  • Proven experience leading complex technical projects
  • A minimum of 15 years in the Property & Casualty and Life Insurance Industry with multi-channel experience



KNOWLEDGE:




  • Working understanding of selling processes and techniques
  • Multi-Channel Distribution expertise
  • Working understanding of P&C and Life Products



TECHNICAL SKILLS:




  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong strategic problem-solving skills and comfortable with complex analysis
  • Ability to understand, track, drill-down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based upon that data
  • Proficient project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives
  • Demonstrated collaboration, relationship building and influencing skills
  • Broad based understanding of overall insurance operations
