DESCRIPTION

This position supports Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility, under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor. This position provides direct patient care to women in the Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility clinic, including GYN procedures, case management and phone triage. This position works independently performing GYN and sub-specialty Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility services and also works with a team of physicians, fellows and residents in an academic medical outpatient setting.

This RN support will provide safe and regulatory compliant nursing care during in office procedures and evaluations. The RN will be responsible for patient teaching and preparation before, during and after the procedures. This RN position assists in assuring the clinic meets and maintains all accreditation requirements and regulatory standards. This position provides leadership to the other clinical and non-clinical staff in the clinic, focusing on creating a positive patient experience, safety, and patient satisfaction, while providing support to the physicians and staff.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.

  • RN License issued by the State of California.

  • BART or BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.

  • Minimum two (2) years of recent RN experience in Women's Health.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN.
  • Recent Women's Health outpatient/ambulatory RN experience.
  • Infertility experience.
  • Three (3+) or more years of RN experience in Women's Health supporting patients during procedures.
  • Previous experience providing and willingness to perform and provide all gynecologic procedures and clinical services.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.

If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
