POSITION: Product Manager, Data Services

REPORTING TO:

Director of Product Management

LOCATION:
Flexible (Remote or a hybrid schedule in one of Candid's offices in New York, NY; Atlanta, GA; Cleveland, OH; Washington D.C.; or Williamsburg, VA)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Product Manager for Data Services will lead the strategic direction and product roadmap for custom and managed data products, prioritizing features that drive customer acquisition and retention. They drive innovation that enhances overall customer experience to exceed expectations. The Product manager's vision and implementation is critical to the overall success of the Candid product portfolio, responsible for driving top revenue-driven initiatives at the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect user feedback and complete user testing for feature requirements.
  • Understand the users/customers/market and their problems.
  • Compile and maintain a competitive analysis through strategic planning based on current market research, emerging trends, and SWOT analysis.
  • Create and communicate product vision for Data Services product suite.
  • Own the product roadmap for global data, partner data integrations, nonprofit data compliance, etc.
  • Author all epics and functional user requirements to enable tech and data services to accurately develop against
  • Monitor and report on key metrics including, but not limited to revenue, acquisitions, churn, engagement, daily and monthly active users and active subscribers to inform product roadmap decisions.
  • Establish and maintain processes for testing, design, rollout, and maintenance of products.
  • Manage the products throughout their lifecycle, including making decisions about positioning, pricing, and version updates.
  • Serve as the primary conduit for information flow between and among end users, Software Engineering, Product, Sales, Partnerships, Marketing, IT, Research, Development and the Executive team.
  • Develop product launch for all new products and major upgrades of existing products with clear measures of success with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and train data analysts and sales with new product and feature demos
  • Articulate key value propositions of assigned product portfolio and Be the subject matter expert in all Candid's data and data offerings.
  • Regularly meet with the applicable customer facing teams (e.g., sales, account management, data services etc.).
  • Develop and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain release notes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of product management experience with an outstanding product portfolio that demonstrates successful innovation and iteration.
  • Experience product managing data products, data science teams, and/or data delivery.
  • Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert in nonprofit data such as financials, operations, and grants. Experience with nonprofit data compliance a plus.
  • Experience working with SQL, relational databases, data analysis, data science, data visualization tools and/or database architecture.
  • Experience with donation platforms or donor advised fund software a plus.
  • Experience building and delivering products and experiences designed for data analysts and developers.
  • Experience launching new products into the market.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum Development methodology.
  • Experience gathering user feedback and prioritization value added features.
  • Experience working with partners to develop technical data solutions together.
  • Strong empathy with customers from various backgrounds and levels of expertise.
  • Ability to solicit customer requirements from many - often competing - sources.
  • Experience working with customer data and analytics tools to understand behavior at scale and interpret metrics about your product success.
  • Independent, high level of initiative and ownership, ability to coordinate efforts across diverse functional groups.
  • Extremely diligent listener and communicator; ability to adapt approach among diverse audiences.
  • College degree strongly preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Sensitivity and respect for racial, gender, sexual orientation, and cultural differences.
