Account Exec I/Marketing Support Hybrid Role We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Account Executive in the Aon Affinity Travel Practice located in Garden City, NY! Business Unit Goals Aon Affinity Travel Practice is a leading global provider of customized, revenue generating travel insurance programs for some of the best known brands in consumer travel. We collaborate with partners to optimize this important value-added product! We apply intelligent analytics, innovative product design, compelling segmentation strategies and engaging creative materials to impact conversion at the point of travel purchase through our partners' direct and indirect distribution channels. We strive to deliver continuous growth from this important ancillary offer for the benefit of our travel industry partners, the underwriting insurers with whom we place these programs and our own shareholders. Job Overview Support relationship managers and senior account executives in the management of all aspects of our company's relationship with executives of cruise lines, tour operators and online travel companies. Respond to client needs, including project coordination, marketing and training, compile and prepare reports, benchmarking, account and/or industry-related information, conduct program and/or product analysis. Independently understand inquiries and make recommendations. Drive relationships and deliverables with partner contacts on a day to day basis. Contribute to development and execution of strategies related to renewals, new business and other optimization proposals to partner travel companies. Duties and Responsibilities Assist our travel industry partners in successfully providing, marketing and supporting our insurance products to their customers Work with Relationship Managers, Directors, Senior Account Executives and Marketing Team to design and conduct persuasive presentations for business development, renewals and training of client personnel; write or otherwise communicate (email, PowerPoint) persuasively to partner contacts and consumers to help explain product concepts, underwriting rationale, rating calculations, pricing opportunities or program changes seeking feedback from peers and managers as appropriate and as the specific situation at hand warrants. Respond to client inquiries; liaise with Aon/client stakeholders regarding operational issues; identify and advise on opportunities to improve the customer experience Lead all internal coordination efforts related to program set up and management of changes including updates to internal systems, legal documentation, internal knowledge training and partner training Actively listen to client concerns, needs, goals or objections, both stated and unstated, to find opportunities or competitive threats. Help marshal the appropriate company resources to be adaptable Contribute to account reviews, including researching current marketing practices and identifying competitive set and product suite Participate in preparation of basic program performance reviews; requires utilization of our reporting tools and understanding how program financials work. Support compliance-related activities Build exposure to all functional areas Suggest, initiate and lead or coordinate projects in conjunction with other functional areas or subject matter leaders to address specific client issues during the course of handling our client's insurance program Engage in a variety of projects as needed. Core Proficiencies and Qualifications A minimum of 3 years of relevant account management experience (in insurance, travel, marketing or related field) including experience in a partner-focused, consultative service environment. Outstanding interpersonal skills capable of interacting with senior executives of clients, cultivating strong relationships and leveraging those relationships with our customers, their employees, insurers and other third parties to the company's long term benefit Ability to identify clients' needs and opportunities, and develop targeted and creative solutions Strong analytical skills, must be financially literate, skilled in excel and able to interpret data Good or emerging negotiation skills Cultivates strong cross functional relationships to serve client needs Communicate effectively and persuasively, both verbally and in writing Manage time and resources effectively through strong organization, prioritization, multi-tasking, delegation, time management and project management skills Work independently as a self-starter and also collaboratively with general instruction Be committed to delivering the highest in customer service, quality and results Anticipate problems and works proactively to tackle them through creative thinking Recognizes when decisions require input from more experienced colleagues, exercising good judgment in the balance between initiative and working as a team member Minimum education required: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
