Job Overview

Manage the Chicago PDC and ensure the highest efficiency levels as measured by predefined KPI''s and ensure motivated, safe and productive employees. Ensure the highest level of quality deliveries to ensure Dealer satisfaction. Measure and manage PDC day-to-day operations, including ISO adherence, facility and employee safety, facilities, systems and processes. Direct and manage all personnel, including managers, supervisors, administrative, hourly warehouse associates and security persons, to ensure the highest levels of motivation, safety and productivity for all Team Members. GandA Budget and Capital Requests - Review weekly and monthly before financial close to ensure all liabilities have been charged appropriately. Provide descriptions for and - results in line items to provide transparency for all who monitor. Plan and forecast the GandA Budget for the following year based on current year actual and accruals.. Assess the needs of the facility and have a plan to submit all needs to the Capital Planning Committee in the 3rd quarter on an annual basis. Discuss these needs in an ongoing basis in PLMM to set expectations. Stay current with asset list requests for disposal, depreciation, and additions. Plan and develop operating budgets inclusive of general operating expenses and capital budget and be accountable for expense and operating budgets. Implement lean distribution operations utilizing TQM and Kaizen continual improvement processes. Manage and implement special projects as approved and agreed. Approve/Lead operational, process and system improvements and changes in Carol Stream and in conjunction with all PDC''s in the MBUSA Network. Ensure continuous improvement of DView Warehouse Management System to ensure enhancements are implemented within budget and according to business priorities. Lead capacity and resource constraint planning for PDC, ensure optimal resources are available to complete the agreed tasks. Ensure continuous planning, implementation and development of new storage techniques and ensuring improved productivity and efficiency. Ensure continuous improvement of all quality and efficiency metrics to better the PDC and Network in terms of cost and performance. Safety and Security - Ensure all employee''s are safe and secure. Ensure OSHA, FAA and federal rules and regulations are posted and have been trained. Ensure all facility, MHE, and Haz Mat Safety training is current and in employee files. Perform annual fire drill and continue working with local municipality ie Fire Dept, Police Dept. Develop disaster safety plan to direct employee''s from harms way in the event of natural disaster. Procure outsourced Security if needed consulting HO and Security for vendors and contracts. Vendor Management - Ensure MBUSA process is adhered to when procuring a new local vendor. All ISO requirements need to be fulfilled for vendor management oversight. Interview and ask for bid proposals in all service requests from possible partners. Work with all vendors so they can provide the best service possible as well as driving out cost. Facilitate meetings where there has been a failure of service to set an action plan for improvement. Review vendor performance to determine if options should be considered. Facility Maintenance - Ensure the facility is kept at a MBUSA minimum level of excellence. Have vendors set up for all functioning parts of the facility to quickly repair and safeguard specific areas and equipment pertaining to the building. This is to include alarms, fire suppression system, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, dock door packages, and elevators. Safety is the first goal of facility maintenance followed by employee environment and operational success.

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing the Chicago Parts Distribution Center located in Carol Stream, IL. This position is a Managerial position responsible for managing 2 Supervisors, 7 support staff and approximately 21 warehouse associates. This position is required to ensure that all Dealer parts orders are processed daily and with the highest attention to safety, quality, accuracy and on time delivery.

Qualifications

Qualifications/ Education

(accredited school) or equivalent work experience with emphasis in: Must have 10 years (total) of experience in the following: Administration --> Comprehensive Knowledge of administrative procedures, process/project development, and system procedures. Automotive-Retail --> Knowledge of retail processes and procedures, with emphasis in New and Pre-owned sales, accessories, service and parts. Business - General --> Comprehensive Knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the organization. Business Management --> Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, human resource management and efficiency and process methods. Government --> General Knowledge of laws, legal codes, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, as it relates to the automotive industry. Human Resources --> Comprehensive Knowledge of principles and procedures for Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Recruitment and Selection, and HRIS. Parts and Accessories --> Comprehensive Knowledge of parts and accessories businesses, marketing strategies and other business practices. Vendor Management --> Knowledge of Agency/Vendor management and budget management.

Additional Information

Must possess a comprehensive understanding of a PDC and its functionality, coupled with the ability to determine production and quality standards.;Implement best practice distribution methods in the area of material handling, storage equipment, increasing inventory turnover, computerization and return on investment.;Must have the ability to promote a team environment throughout all PDCs.;Must encourage, coach, counsel and support site leaders in team building efforts in order to promote the company''s vision and culture, while ensuring optimal effectiveness.;
