Unit Description

Sodexo, a world leader in quality of life services, has an exciting opening for a Senior Communications Manager. This is a remote position; candidates may reside anywhere within the United States.

As an integral part of the Brand and Communications team, the Senior Communications Manager will drive the development and implementation of an integrated brand and communications strategy for business segments, which combines external and internal communications. The strategy will help build the Sodexo brand through a content-driven approach that is delivered across all digital and media touchpoints.

This position will leverage a 360-communication approach to strengthen brand awareness and reputation including client communications and reports, employee and change communication, digital content (social and web), PR and media relations. A skilled storyteller who can identify content opportunities that can be adapted by audience and published on owned and earned channels. Knowledge of editorial calendar development, project and time management skills as well as creative services that include writing, visual design, presentations, speeches and digital content creation.

Key responsibilities:

    Business Acumen: Understanding of the segment business strategies, value proposition and go-to market plans in US and Canada.
  • Segment Content & Communications: Develop and manage the execution of integrated brand and communication plans that drive brand awareness, client and prospect engagement, and align with the segment business goals and priorities. Serves as the lead project manager for leveraging and positioning the CEO as a thought leader and deploying storytelling content with the help of subject matter experts in order to build brand awareness, manage reputation and generate sales leads.
  • Digital Content and Marketing: Work with digital content team in developing content campaigns to support business strategies and go-to market plans. Keeps up to date with new and emerging digital media trends to leverage digital publishing approaches. Work closely with marketing teams on digital and media campaigns.
  • PR and Media Relations: Identifying media and executive speaking opportunities in partnership with PR team and external agencies. Support issue management with messaging and response.
  • Employee and Change Communications: Work with HR and Change Management to develop communications to support employee engagement and internal transformation of the business. Interacts with various groups within Sodexo (other communications team members, digital content, marketing teams within segment, operators and HR). Support the planning and execution of employee or client events such as webinars, town hall meetings or conferences.
  • Measurement and Monitoring: Analyzes, reviews and reports on effectiveness of communication campaigns to maximize current and future results.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years Management experience
  • 3 years of experience in Strategic Communications, Marketing or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong writing skills focused on business communication, web content, development, blogs and executive communication
  • Understanding of digital content creation, dissemination and strategy
  • Understanding of public relations and media landscape
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and strategically advise stakeholders to influence change.

Compensation $100,000-$120,000 + incentive depending on experience and geography

Position Summary

Manages the day-to-day communication activities such as advertising/marketing, media relations, creative editorial, and design services. Assists in advising senior management on the development of communications policies and advertising programs, and the management of public relations. Assists in developing and implementing the communications strategy. Assists in establishing editorial or departmental standards. Provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff.
