Senior Network Services Engineer

Primary Purpose

This position is responsible for the global Tapestry Corporate Network infrastructure LAN/WAN/WLAN. The primary responsibility of this individual is to architect, deploy and provide expertise in managing a reliable network platform for Tapestry Corporate locations and datacenters. This person will be responsible for carrying out installation and maintenance of network software & hardware including routers, switches, firewall/VPN devices, Wi-Fi controllers/AP's, monitoring and management systems. This person will complete network projects and develop and maintain detailed network installation and configuration documentation. This person will work closely with others in the Network team, the Tapestry IS organization and members of the business community.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Technical Services to:

  • Architect, configure, design, implement and maintain the global wide area network and local area networks. Provide architecture and design guidance to Tapestry Network teams globally.
  • Coordinate vendors and third-party providers for Tapestry corporate and retail network add/move/change activity.
  • Provide third-level problem resolution for local and wide area (LAN/WAN) network issues globally.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to improve the operating environment.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams, providing technical expertise to the project and ensuring project deployment success.
  • Liaison to support vendors by providing support and guidance, including on-call (off-hour) support.
  • Provide tactical guidance in our support vendor model to ensures vendor compliance to service level agreements.
  • Conduct advanced evaluations of new technologies and services.
  • Maintain projects schedules and delivers to stated timelines.

The accomplished individual will possess...

    • 9+ years of network engineering experience (3+ years as a hands-on Senior Engineer) with a strong background in configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting Cisco Router/Switch, Cisco Wireless LAN, Fortinet, Palo Alto and Checkpoint products.
  • 5+ years leading technical projects as a technical project manager or subject matter expert on cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Cisco enterprise grade products for LAN, WAN and security
  • Conducts short- and long-term planning to meet network and business requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of LAN and WAN protocols and topologies (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
  • Solid understanding of switching technologies (VLANs, Spanning-Tree, VPC, VSS)
  • Solid understanding of security technologies including firewalls, VPN and Remote Access solutions
  • Working knowledge of enterprise cloud solutions and environments such as AWS, GCP & Azure
  • Experience with SD-WAN, SDN, ZTNA, SWG, SaaS, NaaS.
  • Working knowledge of security devices with various vendors such as Checkpoint, Cisco and Fortinet
  • Knowledge of server load-balancing and the F5 LTM and GLB platforms.
  • Solid understanding of VoIP equipment and operation and QoS configuration.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco Unified Wireless networking to include; 802.11a, b, g & n, LWAPP, CAPWAP, Cisco-Prime, WLC and APs.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi networks, security measures and threat countermeasures a plus
  • Knowledge of applications transport and infrastructure protocols: (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, CIFS, LDAP) and understands how to support applications and protocols when accessed through a VPN and Firewall appliance.
  • Knowledge of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services, including: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, TACACS+, VPN and NAC.
    • In-depth experience with PCI standard network security, including firewalls, and WiFi intrusion detection.
    • Working knowledge of Active Directory Services
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a rapid paced environment
  • Ability to work as a team member as well as a team leader
  • Ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Ability to design, plan, install and maintain network infrastructure.
  • Detailed knowledge of network operating systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of network protocols.
