Associate Director, Instructional Design & Development

KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, Instructional Design & Development to join our Audit Learning & Development organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the intake process for new learning requests to provide guidance, suggested frameworks or methods and better practices as well as opportunities to innovate
  • Participate in discussions with senior stakeholders to help clarify performance outcomes, skill and competency needs as well as learning objectives; Collaborate with business stakeholders on course design, development and subject matter professionals to translate business content into learner-centered experiences
  • Provide guidance in instructional design, adult learning principles and innovation strategies in the conception, design, and development of learning assets
  • Lead design sessions and interview project sponsors and subject matter professionals to gain detailed insight on learning asset requirements (target audience analysis, content scope, context and case study development)
  • Partner with learning strategists to architect learning solutions that generate desired business outcomes; Train/coach junior-level instructional designer and manage external instructional design vendors to develop content consistent with identified learning objectives, brand standards and CPE requirements
  • Ensure learning assets created by other team members or external IDD vendors fully meet the outlined training objectives, company brand standards and CPE requirements; Manage IDDs and vendors to ensure optimal deployment of resources

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of recent corporate experience in instructional design, learning asset materials development and learning, preferably from a professional services firm; Minimum three years experience in team leadership, people development and resource management
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required; Master's degree from an accredited college/university in adult education, learning science, or related discipline inclusive of instructional design a plus
  • Strong client and project management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and to interact professionally and effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Understands market and/or industry trends in learning and development and can apply principles, innovations and concepts with the ability to operationalize
  • Creative thinking skills with ability to ask the needed big-picture questions that lead to process and team improvements; Communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to clearly articulate thoughts and idea
  • Experience designing and developing learning pathways in Degreed a plus
