Associate Director, Linux Engineering

KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, Engineering to join our Digital Nexus technology organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret requirements and leverage standards to develop detailed solutions; Leverage technology roadmaps; collaborate with cross domain architects, engineers, delivery and operations teams; maintain deep technical and business knowledge of industry trends
  • Ensure solution have effective investment economics with scale; provide direction to deployment teams to implement solutions
  • Provide next tier support for operational team; contribute to engineering process; communicate status upward and across organizations
  • Contribute to engineering standards; contribute to service KPI monitoring; contribute to architecture standards
  • Mentor other team members

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of recent experience in Linux/Unix server administration and security issue remediation; experience with LAN/WAN and related TCP/IP protocols
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated experience with Redhat 5/6/7 and Solaris 10/11 administration, volume management software (LVM, VxVM, ZFS), Solaris Zones, Unix patch management, ability to automate common tasks via shell scripting (Korn/Bash/Perl)
  • Experience in data encryption technologies preferred (PGP, PKI, SSL); experience with Site Reliability Engineering preferred
  • Ability to articulate strategic and situational perspectives and apply innovative technical solutions to business problems
  • Ability to translate business requirements and solution architecture into solutions and estimate the financial, delivery and support impacts; quickly comprehend and apply capabilities of new technologies
