The KEEN KANTEEN is seeking a Kitchen Porterto join our growing team! We aim to be a Portland destination in the food and beverage industry, focusing on providing quality food made from local ingredients while making environmentally smart choices to reduce waste. Work Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday, breakfast & lunch services
General Summary

The Kitchen Porter collects and washes used dishes, utensils, and cups from the dish and beverage stations ensuring items are stocked to maintain daily food and beverage service. This role operates a mechanical dishwasher in addition to manually cleaning dishes.

Essential Responsibilities

• Busses and washes used kitchen and great room dishes (items) ensuring consistent availability of clean dishes and cooking equipment
• Busses and stocks dishes throughout the building to ensure that all stations are stocked and cleaned regularly
• Properly stores clean dishes, glasses, and equipment
• Sweeps and mops floors, quickly responding to broken or spilled items
• Sorts refuse, disposes of trash, compost, and recycling, and rinses garbage cans
• Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, safety, and personal hygiene and health standards
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and food storage
• Report necessary equipment & facility repair and maintenance to kitchen manager
• Accepts, unloads, and stores food and equipment deliveries, as needed
• Provides accurate meal descriptions to guests with continued knowledge of menu, as needed
• Cleans and closes the kitchen and facilities according to standard procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• One (1) year of restaurant experience preferred
• Must have current Oregon Food Handlers card
• Knowledge of kitchen and food safety
• Ability to work quickly and effectively with others
• Ability to multitask multiple projects throughout the shift
• Strong communication skills
• Treats all team members with respect and courtesy
• Strong customer focus
