Description

Actively hiring for:

  • Summer and Fall 2024
  • Students must be able to work an average minimum of three shifts per week (approximately 9-10 hours).

The Kansas State University Foundation is seeking Student Gift Officers to join our team!

As part of our Student Development Program, Student Gift Officers (SGO) are responsible for fundraising by engaging in meaningful phone conversations to encourage university support. SGOs work within the Foundation's call center, contacting donors and potential donors to acquire gifts and pledges to the university.

We provide a fun, professional environment, conducive to growing confidence and perfecting communication skills. With the KSU Foundation, you have the ability to participate in regular engagement and career development activities like: resume reviews, mock interviews, student performance reviews, organization and team summits, and social activities. We also offer a complimentary on-site fitness center with 24/7 access to employees!

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Interact and engage alumni and friends of the university via phone.
  2. Represent the university in a professional manner and handle each phone call with courtesy, tact and sensitivity.
  3. Work to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets as assigned by the Strategic Solicitations Manager.
  4. Cultivate and manage a portfolio of prospects.
  5. Collect and accurately record call results and donor information.
  6. Maintain confidentiality regarding all correspondence and mail related to the organization and its donors.
  7. Other work-related duties as assigned including attending KSUF events.
Requirements
  • Must be a current K-State student.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with a diverse donor base, university partners, foundation colleagues and peers through verbal and written means.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the university, the mission of the Foundation and the various programs and campaigns.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record required.

Travel:

  • No travel required.
