POSITION OVERVIEW

The Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, the country’s premier progressive tax policy research organization, seeks an energetic, organized Development Manager to manage our fundraising strategy and activities. This key role will help grow and sustain the organization. The successful candidate will be analytical, creative, and able to prioritize and collaborate with a passionate and fun staff.

This Development Manager will work closely with ITEP’s Executive Director, Deputy Director, and Operations Manager. This new position has the opportunity to help establish a professional fundraising and donor relations function at ITEP. The position will manage relations with current, long-standing donor partners, and support efforts to broaden our donor base. The role is ideal for a self-starter keen to establish a career in fundraising and with a deep commitment to economic and tax justice.

ABOUT ITEP

ITEP, a 501(c)(3) research organization, documents corporate tax avoidance; describes the distribution of taxes at the federal level, in all 50 states, and in some localities; and advances policy solutions to raise more revenue more progressively. Our influential staff works with policymakers, reporters, and front-line partner organizations to research, support, and develop tax policies that tackle inequality and generate revenue for public needs. ITEP’s work is used by partners to win a well-funded public sector, better economic and racial equity, and more progressive tax policies at the federal, state, and local level.

Our research on corporate and individual taxes across income, race and geography helps steer the debate about tax justice at all levels of government. ITEP produces state and federal distributional analyses and revenue estimates based on our tax distribution model – the only model that includes all taxes at the federal and state level. This gives us a unique ability to describe how taxes affect people across income, wealth, geography, race, and ethnicity. ITEP has a collaborative team of researchers, a collegial work environment, and a shared commitment to our mission. We are headquartered in Washington, DC and would prefer a DC-based candidate but will consider remote applicants.
